Universal Music LLC (head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Fujikura Nao / hereinafter referred to as Universal Music) will release Maya Delaila’s debut album, “Long Way Round,” from Blue Note/Capittle, on Friday, March 28th.
Maya Delaila is currently a 24-year-old singer-songwriter/guitarist who has been attracting attention for his guitar videos on social media, and has attracted over 1 million total social media followers. He also co-starred with Meghan Trainer and Sam Henshaw with life-size lyrics that resonate with the same generation, and his sound is sublimated with music such as R&B and soul into organic pop. He is a former prestigious Brit School attended by Adele, Amy Winehouse, and Sam Smith, and has also been selected for Fender’s next-generation artist support program, “Fender Next 2024,” and for Spotify’s campaign “Spotify Artists To Watch 2025,” which focuses on popular artists.
This album contains 12 songs recorded in various places such as London, New York and Los Angeles, and are based on pop and R&B sounds, while also incorporating elements such as blues, country, gospel, and funk. Originally from North London. A singer-songwriter/guitarist from Britt School, a prestigious artist who has produced many artists including Adele and Amy Winehouse. While attracting over 1 million followers on TikTok and Instagram, it attracted attention for its life-size lyrics that resonated with the same generation, the sound that sublimates music such as R&B and soul into organic pop, and the guitar style reminiscent of Tom Misch, the release of the sound began in 2020.
