Universal Music LLC (head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Fujikura Nao / hereinafter referred to as Universal Music) will release AKB48’s 65th single, “Masuka no Confession,” on Wednesday, April 2nd.
This is the first single of AKB48’s 20th anniversary year, and will be released in five formats: first limited edition TYPE-A-C, regular edition, and Official Shop edition. Yagi Aizuki, a 18th-year-old research student, will be serving as the center for the first time, and this is the first time in AKB48’s 20-year history that a research student has appeared as the center for his title song. Couplings are included in all forms“Cherry blossom petals 2025‘To celebrate the 20th anniversary, all members of AKB48’s members sang “Sakura no Petalatachi,” which was released as AKB48’s first indie single on February 1, 2006.
The first limited edition TYPE-A includes the solo song “Yuri,” by Murayama Ayaki, also known as the “Theatre Goddess,” who will graduate from the group on June 15th, her birthday. This is her first solo song in her 14th year since joining, and the title is the nickname “Yuiri.” The first limited edition TYPE-B includes the original song “Haretaru” by the 18th generation research students, and the first limited edition TYPE-C includes the original song “Skipping stone” by the 19th and 20th generation research students. The regular and official shop edition includes the Universe Girls song “Theory of No Time Machine,” centered around Shimoo Miu.
The first limited edition Blu-ray features footage of all songs, including “Overture 2.0,” from the new performance of “Kokokarada,” which marked the first day in about nine years, which marked its first day on December 8th, 2024, divided into TYPE-A-C. In addition, TYPE-A includes the AKB48 18th Stage “Kokoro Karada Performance Documentary – 20th Year Restart” which follows behind the scenes from the announcement of the members on the first day of the performance to the opening day.
The first limited edition TYPE-A-C will include a “serial number ticket for the lottery” that allows you to participate in the release commemorative event. The AKB48 Fan Meeting will be held at two venues in Hiroshima and Sendai, and there will be a “stage event” where only winners of the pre-qualified lottery can participate, and a “Individual Handshake Event” where anyone can participate with a “study lottery serial number ticket.” The Tokyo venue, Makuhari Messe, and Osaka venue, Intex Osaka, will hold “Tokyo Handshake Events” and “Osaka Handshake Events” with all AKB48 members participating. This is also an event that anyone can participate if they have a “serial number ticket for the application lottery.”
LINE MUSIC is currently running a revitalization campaign. All those who listen to and apply for the target songs on LINE MUSIC over 480 times during the period will receive a “LINE MUSIC Campaign Limited Digital Photography” of one selected member of the desired “LINE MUSIC Campaign Limited Digital Photography” from all selected members.
