Korean neo folk band OBSG returns to Japan to appear in "Kankan Cabaret" under the name OBSG 4BS

OBSG, a neo folk song band led by Korean folk song singer Lee Heemoon (Lee Heemoon) visits Japan. On Thursday, May 15th, he will appear at Kankan Cabaret, hosted by Tsukimiru Kimisof in Aoyama, Tokyo.

Lee Hee Moon is an orthodox heir to Gyeonggi folk songs and continues to innovate in the folk songs world as a Seol-kun (singer) and stage director. In his own project, which delivers avant-garde performances, he is called “the heresy of the national music world,” and his band, OBSG, is a band that he leads, embodying “neo folk songs,” which combines elements of folk songs with rock, disco, and dub, embodying “neo folk songs,” which brings new souls to ancient folk songs.

The performance on “Tiny Desk Korea,” released last December, has been an unusual number of views for an indie band. With further progress expected in 2025, it has been decided that they will be visiting Japan for the first time since September last year. This time, under the name “OBSG 4BS,” which specializes in band sounds, the band will be performing in a dansamble form of six members, including Lee Hee-moon.

In addition to OBSG 4BS, Kankan Cabaret will also feature Nakanishi Lemon, a promising singer who thrills Kanto folk songs and Bon dance scenes in the first Sakuragawa Yuimaru-ryu, Sato Miyuki, who sings folk songs from the Balkan region including Bulgaria, and Suzume Tears, a unit consisting of SSW and Arranger Agasa, DF7B, a dance music band based on Cumbia, and writer Oishi Hajime as DJs.
