On Sunday, April 13th, Tempalay held a solo live performance of “yyyyyyyyy” at Hibiya Open-air Music Hall. It will be about six months since Tempalay performed a live performance since “Planet X” held at Nippon Budokan in October last year. AAAMYYY, who had been announced to be pregnant at Budokan, successfully gave birth to her second child, resumed her live performance at Tempalay, and the day was also welcomed with new support members, and after the 10th anniversary of their formation, the band’s next season began.
Although the weather is mixed with light rain and chilly in the evening, even in April, when the sound enters the wild, the audience who have taken thorough rain and cold measures fills the venue, giving you a sense of high expectations for the live performance for the first time in a while. A sci-fi-like SE was played, and a total of six members appeared on stage, supporting three members Ohara Ayato (vocals, guitar), Fujimoto Natsuki (drums), and AAAMYYY (synthesizer), and the live performance began in a wonderful world with Ayato playing bluesy guitars. First, as if to check the atmosphere in the venue, the rising edge slowly but gradually began to rise, and in “TIME MACHINE”, Ayato’s shouts are lit with Ayato’s shout, creating a psychedelic space typical of Tempalay. Their solo show is also distinctive, but the first half of the live performance on the day was focused on lighting, with colorful lighting that coloring the band’s performance.
Another feature is that the song is seamlessly connected with jam-like performances, and the dynamism at the moment when the guitar groans from the relaxed atmosphere to “SONIC WAVE” is also impressive. As the audience’s passion increases further in the choir part, the audience begins with an encounter with the unknown, centered around bass and percussion, and then goes to “my name is GREENMAN.” As the green backlight flashes and the sound is dyed green, the song suddenly changes to stadium rock-like excitement, and each of them plays solos, introducing supporters Enomoto Shun (bass/ODD Foot Works), Matsui Izumi (percussion), and Takada Kaze (guitar, sampler). “Boorn!!,” which uses hip-hop beats and scratch, features AAAMYYY’s vocals, giving it a feeling that she was once again celebrating her birth.
This day, Takada, who will be participating in Tempalay’s first support, was introduced, and he went to “ZOMBIE-SONG” as a song that will make the wind a big hit. Human beat boxer REATMO took part in the sound source, but on this day, Takada’s beat using a sampler was featured in the intro, adding a different kind of charm to the song. Takada also showed off his performances, playing guitar solos in the exotic “Ah Maze,” and he was originally a member of a rock band and in recent years he has also been active as a beatmaker, and can be said to have successfully incorporated Tempalay’s songs into Tempalay’s songs, bringing a literal new wind.
After finishing the performance of “What should I do,” the whole large stage was turned into a campus, and a marble pattern was projected, turning the sound at the sunset into a different space, and the footage of the “Suuu-san” continued to change to more dope. In “NEHAN”, which features Fujimoto’s even kick and Matsui’s percussion, the venue was brilliantly decorated with neon colors in pink and light blue, but in the “new generation,” the members’ performances were projected onto None’s stage, making the perfect match and synergistic effect of this visual production and Tempalay’s songs. Furthermore, they performed “Superman,” which was included in the album “(ika)” released last year for the first time at a live performance. As Ayato said in the MC after this, “it’s too difficult,” the audience was particularly progressive and recreated the difficult song, packed with a variety of developments and rhythmic patterns, and the audience received a huge applause.
Following the MC who once again announced AAAMYYY’s birth to her second child, the second half of the live show started with the piano ballad “Tsukimi Udon” with an oriental atmosphere. The rain that had been enduring so much light rain had finally started to fall, but it was a special moment unique to None, as the rain and the lights mixed in with the momentum of the song to enhance the drama. The performance continued as the rain continued, with the “Abiba Non Non” and “Prophet”, and then the performance was performed again with the marble pattern that was shown on stage. Coincidentally, the song was performed in the middle of Tokyo on the day when the Osaka and Kansai Expo began, which was another special moment, and the familiar shouting of “Rasserra!Rasserra!” seemed to have been even more passionate than usual. At the end, Ayato, who had an emotional solo and screaming voice in “Sonachine,” held up a loud guitar in the outro, proudly closing the day of a new beginning.
