Ampel, the first streaming single announced by TENDRE’s Kawahara Taro, Yogi Takemura Ikuya and Yoshioka Hiroki

Ampel, a trio band consisting of Kawahara Taro, Takemura Ikuya and Yoshioka Hiroki, released their single “RED” today, Wednesday, April 16th.

The three of them met at a live house called GARAGE in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo. Today, 13 years after their current members’ activities, the band released their first digital single. Going back, we released the audio recordings last time, it was 10 years ago in 2015. The single “Image” from Petrols’ label enndisc will be released as a CD exclusive to Tower Records Shibuya. Since then, they have been running at their own pace without releasing any audio sources and not being misled by those around them, but after 10 years they have chosen to broadcast for the first time.

Kawahara Taro, who is currently active as a TENDRE, is in charge of bass vocals and songwriting. Takemura Ikuya is a guitarist for YOGEE NEW WAVES and has a sound resonated in a variety of situations. Drummer Yoshioka Hiroki also shows off her powerful and flexible drumming on numerous occasions. In addition to the simple band sound that is unique to three-pieces, this work also features Kawara’s piano performance, making the band’s simple, warm sound image even more three-dimensional. The singing voice of the riverbank blends in with the scenery, the pale sunset, making it a song that gives you a sense of relief as if you’ve returned to your parents’ home.

They ran at their own pace, and in front of the traffic lights that turned red, they felt like they were at home. That’s the band called Ampel, and while waiting for the green light of each of their lives, they will probably return to this place and enjoy the dialogue.
