IKE & rice water Groove Production released their second album, “Deal’n Galactica” today, Wednesday, April 16th.
IKE & rice water Groove Production was launched in 2018 when Tokyo-based rapper IKE and rice water Groove (TBS’93, changelemon) teamed up in collaboration. Starting with his first album, YUPPIE, in 2019, he has evolved his own unique evolution by projecting 13 consecutive releases from his lead label Doggy G Central Records, as well as providing and collaborating with other artists.
This is the first full album in about six years, and is a concept album set in the “Space number one supermarket in the universe” and depicts contemporary themes such as consumption and creation, memory and experience, capital and ideas, health and desire. All the songs were produced by members IKE and TBS’93. The collection includes a total of 13 songs featuring a spectacular audience, including “Midsummer Breeze feat. TOMORO (The Congratulations), baramonK,” a hardcore anthem that symbolizes trials and challenges, and “Straight talk from V762 feat. Emi Tawata,” a song about love that transcends the galaxy.
In addition, a release party for this game will be held at Omotesando WALL & WALL in Tokyo on Saturday, June 7th. They plan to offer an immersive performance that allows you to experience the album’s worldview with your whole body, with a special set only available on this evening.
The guest will be SEPTETO BUNGA TROPIS, a Latin instrumental band led by saxophonist Takai Shioto, known for DC/PRG and other works. This one-night stand, with different musical roots of hip-hop and Latin intersecting on the scene with rhythm and passion, was said to have been made through a passionate love call from IKE & rice water Groove Production.
A special dance session and showcase will also be held by the dance team Galaxy Plug Dancers, which was formed solely for the day. And we have a comprehensive merchandise lineup that embodies the “bizarre supermarket” as another highlight to decorate the party. Based on the album concept, the collection of items that shine even in a corner of the galaxy. This is an opportunity to not only touch and bring back the world of Deal’n Galactica in your everyday life, but also to touch and take it home.
The lineup includes SEX Yamaguchi and DJ Komogi. Don’t miss this all-sensory, five-dimensional party where five elements, live performances, Latin, dance, DJ, and merchandise, come together.
