The music video for Taiwan’s SSW Julia Wu (Yu Zhuyuan)’s latest single, “Dinner,” released on Friday, April 11th, has been released.
Julia Wu has attracted a lot of attention in Japan, having appeared on “SUMMER SONIC,” collaborated with STUTS, “World’s End (feat. Julia Wu, 5lack)” and collaborated with Shiseido Anessa’s campaign song “Summertime.”
This is his first song with the theme of “family”. Since moving abroad at the age of 17, she has not had much time to spend with her family, but she suddenly remembers the “family taste” — in particular, she sings the modest happiness and nostalgia of everyday life, based on the family’s handmade dumplings. It is an hymn to all the “family living apart” living in modern times, and can be said to be a song that will remind you of someone you love somewhere.
The music video is a filmmaker from Okinawa.Kohei Yonahawas the director. Using delicate visual sense and storytelling, the film depicts it in a science fiction worldview that overlaps the distance between family with the universe. Julia herself did not appear in the music video, and all filming was completed in Okinawa. The video shows the feeling of leaving his family and wandering around the universe in search of something invisible.
In addition, Julia’s younger sister, Grace, participated in the song as a special vocalist. This co-star, which he invited on a whim, brings deeper “intimacy” to the song.
