WORLD HAPPINESS is a music festival curator and has been loved for many years as an urban festival, but it has been decided that live music and footage carefully selected from Takahashi Yukihiro’s performance, which was performed at “WORLD HAPPINESS,” will be released as its first packaged work.
This film includes valuable footage and audio footage of WH13 Special Band The Osomatsu-kuns, a specially formed film featuring Takahashi Yukihiro’s solo name, Yellow Magic Orchestra and HASYMO, as well as METAFIVE by Takahashi Yukihiro, Oyamada Keigo, Sunahara Yoshinori, TOWA TEI, Gondout Mohiko, and LEO Imai, pupa, which also features Harada Tomoyo, and a unit with Suzuki Keiichi, as well as the WH13 Special Band The Osomatsu-kuns, a specially formed member, mainly Takahashi Yukihiro, Ohara Rei, Dr.kyOn, Sahashi Yoshiyuki, Oyamada Keigo, and Gondout Mohiko, as well as interview footage of Takahashi Yukihiro’s thoughts on the festival. It is also a super luxurious album that fans will be greeted by, with a 116-page booklet containing valuable photos that will be released for the first time, including live shows, rehearsals, and off-shots.

■What Takahashi Yukihiro felt and thoughts on WORLD HAPPINESS
The urban festival started in 2008 by Takahashi Yukihiro and Shinto Mio.
I think the reason it lasted for over 10 years is because of Yukihiro’s enthusiasm and the charm of bringing music to it.
■Thoughts on appearing on WORLD HAPIINESS
It’s definitely time for work. I’m so happy to be able to participate in all the events of any kind, as a band, unit, and as a guest. You can listen to music from old friends and new musicians, listen to music that you have been involved in, especially when you play.
I began to feel that it was aimed at both the audience and the musicians in the dressing room. This is nothing else.
It really felt like we held BAND AID every year.
■Regarding the release of WORLD HAPIINESS
I watched the footage every year on airings, and when I watched all 10 festivals for about 10 years, I came across the history of Japanese pop music.
A new history of music, which can be said to have begun around 1970, blended into 21st century festivals to create an exquisite contrast. The pieces that seemed to have been scattered and torn apart have been mixed with new music to create quality. I am grateful to Takahashi Yukihiro.

◆Profile
Born in 1952, from Tokyo. He has been active as a studio musician since high school, and joined the Sadistic Mika Band in 1972 while studying at Musashino Art University. Later, in 1978, he formed YELLOW MAGIC ORCHESTRA (YMO) with Hosono Haruomi and Sakamoto Ryuichi, leaving behind a major influence both domestically and internationally, and in 1983 he “disbanded”. He then worked alongside his solo career, and worked in the unit THE BEATNIKS with Suzuki Keiichi, as well as pupa, which he formed with Harada Tomoyo and Takano Hiroshi. He also uses different names and works irregularly, such as SKETCH SHOW with Hosono, and HASYMO and YMO, in which Sakamoto joined SKETCH SHOW. As a solo artist, he has continued to release albums constantly since 1978’s “Saravah!”. In July 2013, they released their original album “LIFE ANEW,” featuring band sounds, along with the new band “In Phase,” featuring James Iha and others. In January 2014, the band “Takahashi Yukihiro & METAFIVE” will be holding a one-night special live performance, featuring five members: Koyamada Keigo (Cornelius), Sunahara Yoshinori, TOWA TEI, Gondout Mohiko, and LEO Imai. This stage was well received and has continued to appear at several live events since then. The film “Ghost in the Shell ARISE border: 4 Ghost Stands Alone” which was released in September of the same year, wrote the ending theme “Split Spirit,” and the following year, 2015, changed the group name to “METAFIVE.” In 2022, the company celebrated its 50th anniversary, and in September of the same year, an anniversary live performance was held featuring artists who are close friends. He passed away on January 11, 2023 at the age of 70.
