PRIMAL will release their new album, “Nostalgie” on Friday, April 25th.
PRIMAL is known as the central figure of MSC, a hip-hop group that mainly works in Shinjuku and features Han Aka GAMI and others. This is the third album under the solo name, released by PRIMAL, which has moved its base to Hokkaido for about 10 years ago, and is the first in 12 years since his previous album, Proletariat. The majority of the songs, which covers a total of 13 songs, were beats by producers from the Hokkaido area such as DOGG aka DJ PERRO, Michita, Halt., and Nagasaki Takeshi, and Yusaku Arai, who is also known for her collaboration with GOODMOODGOKU and others. In addition to the guest artists, YAS I AM, a MC based in Hokkaido and MAD KOH, reggae de jey, the MCs who have been holding microphones for a long time, such as Han Aka GAMI, BES, SAW and RUMI, have gathered together.
Sapporo, Otaru, Kushiro, family, labor, aesthetics, melancholy, conflict. This is a work that will become PRIMAL’s current location, as the life reflected in PRIMAL, who was once known as the “sleeping man,” is approached through rap. I look forward to the release.
