In May, the R&B/POP duo Emotional Oranges, who visited Japan, will release new song “Call It Off” featuring NCT’s JAEHYUN

At the same time, he announced that he will release his debut album “Orenjii” on May 16th.

Emotional Oranges, an R&B/POP duo who will be appearing at GREENROOM FESTIVAL, to be held in May, has announced that they will release their long-awaited debut album, “Orenjii,” on May 16th. Ahead of the release of the film, the latest single, “Call It Off (feat. JAEHYUN)” was released.

They are making fantastic collaborations one after another, and this track features JAEHYUN, a member of the popular Korean boy group NCT. JAEHYUN’s soulful vocals give the smooth R&B sound typical of Emotional Oranges a sense of the soul, and the depth of the intercultural exchange.

The upcoming debut album, Orenjii, has been heavily influenced by Korea and Japan in terms of both sound and aesthetics, and this track featuring JAEHYUN is a particularly highlight of the album.

“I met JAEHYUN in 2024 when I was involved in the production of his song “Flamin’ Hot Lemon.” I was so surprised that even though I grew up on the other side of the world, there were people who had similar influences. He was influenced by boy groups in both R&B and POP genres that were active in the 90s, and V (Vali) and I remembered him while making “Call It Off.” This song gives the handsome soul pop star energy and takes two steps (lol). I want to send lots of love to my younger brother. I can’t wait for the day he’s discharged and celebrated!,” Azado said.

The new song, “Call It Off,” combines the smooth, grooved style of Emotional Oranges’ A (Azad Naffysy) and V (Vari Porter) with JAEHYUN’s highly vocals. The dreamy track that connects K-POP and R&B across genres is awakened to global sympathy, while still providing a unique intimacy.

They talk about their debut album, “Orenjii.”

“To put this album, Orenjii in one word, I think it’s “Juxtaposition.” We wanted to combine a world that would not normally exist or be considered complementary, creating a new sense of something.”

They continue like this.

“Orenjii means “orange” in both Korean and Japanese. Over the past few years, our time in Seoul and Tokyo has had a strong impact on all our tastes and has been a hint for the album’s title and concept. They often accept our music and art faster than other cultures, and we’ve always been watching them. By the way, the lyrics of this album are based on narcissism and love for others. In other words, we wanted to create a collection of songs that would give us hope in our younger days.”

Emotional Oranges “CANDY GUM (ft. Jessie Reyez & Becky G)”

The pioneering releases of “CANDY GUM” and “Out The Blue” were widely praised, with both songs featured on Spotify’s R&B Weekly and Channel-X, and gaining strong support from media such as The Line Of Best Fit, Wonderland, F Word, TMRW, UPROXX and Hunger.

In addition to this new song, “Call It Off,” they collaborated with a variety of well-known artists on their debut album “Orenjii.” It sets the hurdles high and shows why they brought people together through sound, style and culture, and became loved in the world’s music scene.
