Universal Music LLC (head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Fujikura Nao / hereinafter referred to as Universal Music) will release the “Sting 3.0” live album “3.0 Live” on Friday, April 25th.
Sting 3.0 is a three-piece band consisting of 17 Grammy Award winners, Dominique Miller, a long-time Sting guitarist, and dynamic drummer Chris Mars. The album will be released in CD, LP and digital distribution formats, including live music recorded at the world tour that began last May.
This album contains nine latest live recordings, which can be said to be the Greatest Hits of Sting and Police (the regular edition of the Japanese version includes a total of 10 songs, including the newest track of the newest song “I Roat Your Name (Uppon My Heart)”). “B Still My Beating Heart” is Sting’s first live version.
The Record Store Day limited edition Deluxe Edition 2LP was also released, and only in Japan, the 2CD deluxe edition, a CD version of this 2LP, will be released. The 2CD/LP Deluxe features 17 songs, and four of Sting’s first live versions include: “Be Still My Beating Heart,” “I Roat Your Name (Uppon My Heart),” “Never Comes Home,” and “Can’t Stand Roasting You.”
“STING 3.0” will be performing in Japan for the first time in two years, with six performances in five cities in Tokyo, Nagoya, Kobe, Hiroshima and Fukuoka in September. This “STING 3.0” tour has received a huge response from the Western tour that started last year, and has recorded SOLD OUT in various locations. The setlist for Western performances also featured hits from the police era, “Message of Solitary,” “Synchronicity II,” and “I Want to Watch,” as well as classic solo songs such as “English Man in New York,” and “Shape of My Heart,” making it a great opportunity to enjoy Sting’s songs that have remained in rock history in a trio.
