Kuyoyama Our Shame released their new single, “Summer Air feat. BRADD” on Monday, April 21st.
Our Shame is an electronic folk duo consisting of a concealed (Vo.) and Isan (Dr.). He also appeared at the Megaport Festival, a large Taiwanese music festival held last month, with many Japanese artists.

This is the second in a two-part series that sings about the emotions surrounding the four seasons, following the collaboration song “Snow in Osaka” with Japanese SSW/Rapper ASOBOiSM released last year. Following the previous work, which was based on snow, this song stimulates emotions inspired by the changing seasons. This love song is impressive with a calm, gloomy feel and refreshing summer, and is written while remembering the warmth of early summer on a winter night when cold waves occur, which is rare in Taiwan, and the sight of people driving away in the distance at sunrise and sunset.
This work also features Taiwan’s next-generation R&B singer.BRADDA guest appearance. In 2023, BRADD, who won the Best R&B Song Award at the Taiwanese Indie Music Awards, Golden Indie Music Awards, and Koyoyama Our Shame, who was also nominated for Best Alternative Pop Album Award and Best Newcomer Award, hit it off after meeting them at a ceremony. The verse by BRADD was inspired and completed in just 10 minutes while riding his bike on a road in Taipei late at night.

The new artist photos that were also released were created by Ee Branding Studio, a new visual integration strategy company, and photographer Zhang Jiahui. It is said that it expressed a sense of conflict in which reason and sensibility complement each other and at the same time repel each other. The “Summer Air” cover art is inspired by a real Santa Monica restaurant. It depicts ambiguous changes in emotions and a sense of hope during magic hour before sunrise.
It is said that Yoyama Our Shame is planning to release their second album this summer. I look forward to more news.
[Yoyama Our Shame Comment]
The inspiration for “Summer Air” began when I attended a music festival. As a bilogy of feelings about “Snow in Osaka,” it expresses the fact that he realized that it wasn’t the person who missed him, but the warmth he spent together and the time that began in the late spring and early summer. The song originally expressed feelings of parting, but was reborn with new arrangements and lyrics during the preparation period for the Megaport Festival performance. The phrase “Don’t want you to know/I miss you more/need you more/than I should” (losing the atmosphere of that summer/remembering the time you had fun/I don’t want you to know/I miss you/more than I admit) contains two meanings: “I don’t remember you” and “I don’t want you to know.”
