Kumamon Square is a base of activities for Kumamon, which opened in July 2013 on the first floor of the Tetoria Kumamoto Building, Chuo Ward, Kumamoto City, in response to the questions, “Where can I go to meet Kumamon?” and is a facility that also provides information on Kumamoto Prefecture’s products and tourism. On Monday, April 28th, 2025, 11 years and nine months have passed since its opening, Kumamon Square reached 4 million visitors. To commemorate this, a “event commemorating the achievement of 4 million visitors” was held.

At 2:00pm, the event starts at Kumamon Square, which is packed with customers from both Japan and abroad, Kumamon dressed in a tuxedo, the most challenging outfit. In his hand he has a plate that says “Achieve 4 million people.” When the host explained that “we have reached 4 million visitors today,” the museum was filled with cheers.

This is where the commemorative ceremony begins. When Kumamon pulled a skull ball, the customer sang, “Congratulations on reaching 4 million Kumamon Square!”

Next, the memorable 4 million visitors were presented with a commemorative gift from the main branch of the Kumamoto Prefectural Governor’s Office, Kumamon Bureau.

Finally, Kumamon sent a message saying, “Everyone, Sun Bear! It’s 4th Ever☆.”

And to express our gratitude to everyone who visited,

Kumamon Square’s original dance song, “Kumamon Square Theme – Fantasy Version,” is performed in full energy. The audience was filled with great applause, and the ceremony was concluded with a huge success.

Kumamon Square is currently holding a special Golden Week project, “Kamon! Kumamoto.” In addition, starting today, sales of “messages (limited canned magnets, limited postcards) for commemoration of the number of visitors to the museum (limited postcards)” have begun. We will continue to prepare various projects, welcome Kumamon fans from around the world, and together with Kumamon, we will be sending happy and surprises to the world.
