The new album “Raspberry Moon” will be released on Third Man Records on June 20th
Hotline TNT, a project led by Will Anderson, based in New York, has released the second advance single, “Candle,” and a music video from their new album, “Raspberry Moon” (June 20th / released by Third Man Records).
His first pre-single, Julia’s War, was described as a “shady, powerful, and catchy power-pop jam” on Stereogum in the US, but this time, “Candle” features cascade-like drums and noisy guitars. It is the most sincere and honest love song Anderson has ever written, and is an open-minded hymn about diving into euphoria, like a butterfly dancing all over his body. He looks at the past, but turns his eyes away from it and continues to pursue something new satisfaction. “They don’t hold a candle to you / Nothing more than I can prove,” sings, letting go of reason and simply surrender to the fate in front of me.
The music video for the song is based on footage of a live show from a recent tour of Japan.
It’s.
Hotline TNT “Candle”
“This song was the first song I wrote for ‘Raspberry Moon’ and it felt like it was spilling out of my guitar naturally.
It was a thing. I don’t think it even took 1% of the effort to decide on the composition,” Anderson said.
“I took it to Japan to see if it was a really good song, and I tried it out, and this video is a record of the reactions I had at the time. Candle is really “LIT”.”
The album “Raspberry Moon” was recorded in the studio of Amos Pitsch, a hero of the modern DIY scene. This was also the first time the music was produced in a full band structure, including guitarist Lucky Hunter, bassist Haylen Trammel, and drummer Mike Ralston. This work transcends generational work that depicts both the sentimentality that is unique to youth and the growth of an adult, and is charming and sometimes humorous.
While deepening unity as a touring band through studio production, Anderson has a strong view of life.
The ever-changing love story made me able to write up the most outspoken love songs for myself.
. In the history of rock and roll, the existence of music writers who alone depict the perfect form of sound and the path that leads to it has always been special. With the advancement of technology, it is now possible to easily use studio-like equipment at home, making it even easier to create individuals.
But what really matters is that it abandons ego and self-contained expressions and is better with trustworthy peers
It is about creating a work. With Raspberry Moon, Hotline TNT does just that. This work, which Will Anderson loved the world around him and gave himself room to open his heart, is filled with hooks that make him wonder which phrase to hum.
