Singer-songwriter Leina was in charge of the long-awaited sixth film in Beppu’s short film production project, “veil,” the theme song for “Veil,” directed by Hagiwara Kentaro and Natsuo Daiko, starring Natsuo. As this was his first film theme song, he said, “It was his first film theme song, which was a dream, and it was a very happy and unforgettable experience that both the work and my music were creative and completed. It was a work that was like my first love.”
The film will be held at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, where the opening day of the film will be staged, and stars Natsuo Daiko as Kota, Jesse Priscilla as Puturi, Maikuma Katsuya as Sora, and director Hagiwara Kentaro as the stage. Regarding the successful release, director Hagiwara said, “I’m happy to be able to screen the film like this and come back to Beppu again.” Regarding the title “Veil,” Director Hagiwara said, “I think it has many meanings, but since Japan is a country of a single ethnic group, it often comes as if it’s easy to understand the other person. That’s why it’s important to have imagination and think about the other person’s feelings, so I chose this title this time.” Regarding the reason for the theme of microaggression, she said, “It was two years ago that I first came to APU, but it didn’t seem like a Japanese university,” and Natsuo smiled and said, “I’m from Oita Prefecture, and I’ve always hoped that I could take a photo in Oita someday, but I’m so happy that my wish came true so soon.” Maikuma also said, “I’m so happy to be able to appear in such a wonderful film, as I came to Beppu at the film festival three years ago. As an APU employee, I was able to act with my own personal preferences and with the will of Kota.”
After that, Leina, who was the theme song for this work, took the stage as a surprise, took the stage. Amidst the packed applause, the audience was first performed “Veil,” a theme of microaggression and heartbreak, captivating the audience with their impressive singing voice. The cast members who were listening to the stage seemed unable to hide their excitement, and director Hagiwara seemed unable to hide their excitement, saying, “I’m so happy that Leina, who I’ve been a fan and I’ve been listening to for a long time, wrote this new story!”
