“Hush my darling, no don’t you cry,

Daddy’s trying to write you a lullaby so sweet..

And if that lullaby is a hit,

Dad can buy you loads of cool shit”

♪ “Don’t cry, my dear child
Daddy is trying to write a lullaby for you
If this lullaby hits
I can buy you lots of cool stuff.”

Peter Doherty has just released his new album, “Felt Better Alive,” and also released a music video for his new song, “Pot Of Gold.” “Pot Of Gold” is the fourth single from the album, following previous pre-release songs “FELT BETTER ALIVE”, “CALVADOS” and “THE DAY THE BARON DIED.”

The music video for “Pot Of Gold” humorously beats the famous quote by British literary critic and writer Cyril Connolly: “There is no more sad enemy to art than a pram in the hallway.” Filmed at Peter’s home in Etretat, Normandy, the video features his young family and puppets, directed by Thad & Numa.

Peter Doherty talks about “Pot Of Gold”:
“After my daughter Billy-Mae was able to walk, it was harder to even secure five minutes of guitars at home, so I had no choice but to involve her. She sang and made her a lullaby about what she likes, her teddy bear, and sang and danced with her. It’s better to get involved than to say, ‘I’m quiet and writing songs!'”
