Australian Japanese mix artist Notes From Under Ground releases new single “Lying Awake” on May 20th, ahead of the EP

Notes From Under Ground, an artist with roots in Australia and Japan, will release their new song “Lying Awake” on Eryngii Records on May 20th. This will be the second leading single from the EP “American Grace & Guilt,” which is scheduled to be released on June 20th.

Lachlan Caskey, known as the guitarist of Last Dinosaurs, started his other solo project, “Notes From Under Ground,” to face his inner self, was named after Dostoevsky’s masterpiece. As the name suggests, this work, “Lying Awake,” combines existential lyrics, clear guitar sound, and driving rhythms, depicting “a dizzy feeling that is at the mercy of love at the end of the world.”

The single follows “It’s A Beautiful Time To Live” released in April, and raises expectations for the EP. Most of the songs on the EP were written during a summer in Toronto, Canada.

Caskey said about the project:

“Many of the songs included in this EP reflect perspectives and emotions that are linked to “Dostoevsky” expressions. That’s all.”

The music video for “Lying Awake” is scheduled to be released on May 23rd, Caskey’s birthday.
