HYDE meets with the President of Austria as a tourism ambassador at the Osaka-Kansai Expo!

On May 23rd, HYDE met with President Alexander van der Belem of the Republic of Austria at the Austrian Pavilion at the Osaka-Kansai Expo, which is currently being held!

HYDE has been the tourism ambassador for Austria since January 2024, and has deepened their friendship by meeting with President Van der Belen, who is visiting Japan to attend the “National Day” ceremony at the Osaka-Kansai Expo, and talking about the beauty of Austria’s city.

Regarding Austria, which I visited for the first time last year, HYDE said, “It’s a really nice city and the people are very kind. There are many terrace cafes all over the city, so it was great to be able to relax while looking at the historic buildings. I was only able to go to Vienna, so I would like to visit other towns.”

The reason for the appointment of HYDE as tourism ambassador was that the Austrian Tourism Bureau, which has been a track record in domestic and international music activities for over 30 years, explained that “the outstanding contribution to the music industry unites the spirit of Austria, which loves arts, and is ideal as a tourism ambassador who deeply understands and communicates the appeal of Austria.”

After meeting with the president, HYDE watched the Vienna Boys’ Choir stage. Furthermore, the following day, on the 24th, after visiting the Kansai Pavilion, which has a booth in his hometown of Wakayama Prefecture, he also greeted Osaka Healthcare Pavilion, Governor Yoshimura Hirofumi, who had visited the pavilion, and took a commemorative photo. Over two days, we visited various domestic and international pavilions, and enjoyed the Osaka/Kansai Expo, which we had never visited.

The Austrian Pavilion also displays photos of HYDE taken in the city of Vienna, Austria, and it has also been decided that a photo book “Jekyll and HYDE in Wien,” which compiles such wonderful photos, will be released on June 13th. Also, “Austria Tourism Week” will be held at the pavilion from June 2nd to 8th, with special plans scheduled for sale of the “HYDE collaboration Sacher Torte set” and the creation of original postcards, so be sure to check it out as well!
