Orisaka Yuta released his new single, Yamamba Mambo, today, Wednesday, June 4th.
This is a song written by Orisaka Yuta on NHK’s Minna no Uta, which will be broadcast from April to May. Orisaka, who loves “Nihon Hajime no Yanashi” and also writes a collection of short stories himself, chose the theme of his song this time as “Yamamba,” which has been warmed up for many years. It combines Yamamba, an old woman living in the mountains, which appears in ancient Japanese folklore, with Mambo, a cheerful Latin music that originated in Cuba. It could be said to be a new, nostalgic Orisaka version of “The Story of the Old Japanese Songs.”
Animation aired on NHK has also been released on YouTube. The relaxed animation, with unique and adorable characters spreading across the screen, was illustrated by picture book author Hasegawa Yoshifumi, and was produced by creative workshop Kumotori.
In addition to band members Senoo Ricky (Dr.), Miyata Azumi (Cb.), and Haranatsuko (Sax., Fl.), percussionist Miyasaka Ryotaro, who has performed together in live performances and recordings, and Ichie participated in the recordings on trombone and trumpet. The horn section, which has the most 10 tubes for Orisaka, is arranged by Haranatsuko, who also participated in the performance. Recording, mixing and mastering was done by Nakamura Kosuke.

[Comment by Orisaka Yuta]
I met Hasegawa Yoshifumi, who was in charge of drawing the anime Yamamba Mambo, in the dressing room after the performance.
When I saw her gentle, clear eyes, I immediately thought, “I’ll stop pretending to be an adult and talking.”
It was fun to gather together and play together. It is not missiles that are exchanged across countries and positions;
I hope that this will be an exchange of sensations between children (and those who were) each other.
