[PROFILE]

His real name is Sasaki Isao.

Born in Tokyo on May 16, 1942.

In 1960, he made his debut as a rockabilly singer from Nippon Columbia. It gained popularity for its catchphrase “Japanese Presley.”

At the same time, he was selected to play the lead role in Oshima Nagisa’s film “The Graveyard of the Sun” (1960), and for a year he appeared in Nouvelvague films as an exclusive actor in Shochiku films.

He then continued to appear in theater, musicals, and television films.

This was due to her appearance as a voice actor in “Science Ninja Team Gatchaman” in 1972 as a Condor Joe, and she recorded her first anime song as Sasaki Isao in “New Man Cassian” in 1973.

From then on, he sang numerous anime songs, including the Space Battleship Yamato series (1974 and up), which is a masterpiece of his life.

The theme songs featured “Getter Robo” (1974), “Hauraken Polymer” (1974), “UFO Robo Grendizer” (1975), “Gaiking of the Great Sky Dragon” (1976), and “Planet Robo Danguard A” (1977).

There are TV anime such as “The New Star of the Giants” (1977), “Galaxy Express 999” (1978), and “The Ultraman” (1979), as well as special effects TV movies such as “Hikari Sentai Gorenger” (1975), and “Jacker Dengekitai” (1977).

He also worked as a voice actor, and in the anime he played many jobs, in addition to the aforementioned Joe, as well as the role of Saito Hajime in the theatrical film “Farewell Space Battleship Yamato: Warriors of Love” (1978).

He also plays hit roles such as Sylvester Stallone, Christopher Reeve, and David Hasselhoff from the TV series “Knight Rider.”

In 2015, he won the Merit Award at the Tokyo Anime Awards Festival 2015.
