Half Mile Beach Club releases new release “One Shot Live Session EP” today and session footage

Half Mile Beach Club has released their new album, “One Shot Live Session EP,” today, Friday, June 27th.

Half Mile Beach Club is a four-member instrumental band based in Tokyo, based in Zushi City, Kanagawa Prefecture. This work is a collection of live session recordings and filming, and includes four songs from HMBC’s “One Shot Live Session,” which has been released intermittently since 2022, including the unreleased new song “Black Moon,” and the pre-season single “Yankees Brew.”

Each performance was recorded in one shot, both video and audio without editing, and the atmosphere flowing through the studio and grooves between the members are contained in a immersive atmosphere, making it a very realistic piece.

A video of the “Black Moon” session will also be released in conjunction with the release of the EP. “Black Moon” is a song created by reconstructing voice samples and phrases based on songs from the past era of song stories. While giving a sense of the influence of the old Mudchester sound, it combines with the organic and groovy sound image of current HMBC, resulting in a fresh balance.

In addition, the footage of this session is impressive with the natural light coming through the large studio window, and the energy of the music and the bright texture of the images are perfect match. This is one of the most recent songs recorded in one-shot live sessions, and it seems to be the most strongly reflecting the atmosphere and condition of the current HMBC live performance.
