Hikawa Kiyoshi has decided to release his new song, “Shirosuilen” digitally on July 16th, 2025 and CD release on September 3rd.
The lyrics were written by a lyricist who is a representative Japanese music world, and this year marks the 55th anniversary of his lyrics, and is composed by Matsumoto Takashi, who is composed by rock band GLAY, and Kameda Seiji, who is produced and arranged by music.
“White Water Lilies” is a delicate and emotional ballad with the theme of loss, reunion, and prayer for the “afterlife.”
The song quietly depicts the pain and beauty of life, and Hikawa’s deep, transparent singing voice brings life to its lyrics and melody.
Regarding this new song, Hikawa said, “We are currently planning to release the new song “Shirosuilen” produced by Kameda Seiji.
When I was 5 years old, the first song I sang in front of people was Matsuda Seiko’s “Aka Sweet Pea,” and I received lots of applause and gave me hope for singing and hope for life. The great lyricist, Matsumoto Takashi, who wrote the lyrics to the song, which is the origin of the song, wrote the lyrics for the new song. The melody was written by TAKURO (GLAY), and we have come to realize that we have been working with wonderful people, and it feels like we are pushing ourselves so deeply. I would like to sing “White Water Lilies” so that it can reach a wide range of people of all ages and genders. “He has feelings for him.
The digital jacket is handled by Hikawa himself. The pure and fleeting flowers perfectly resonate with the song’s worldview, leaving a strong visual impression.
The memorable refrains, such as “Let’s meet in the next life” and “Don’t let go of the next life,” remain quiet in the depths of your heart.
Be sure to check out “Shirakuri Lilies,” a song that artist Hikawa Kiyoshi shows off his true value as an artist!

Hikawa Kiyoshi’s Comment (Full Text)

We are currently planning to release our new song, “Shirosuilen,” produced by Kameda Seiji.
In fact, when I was 5 years old, the first song I sang in front of people was Matsuda Seiko’s “Aka Sweet Pea,” and I received lots of applause at that time, giving me hope for singing and hope for life. However, great lyricist Matsumoto Takashi, who wrote the lyrics to the song, which is the origin of the song, wrote the lyrics for this new song. Matsumoto-sensei also put a lot of effort into it, and when I saw the lyrics it made me feel sad, as if my heart was choked up completely. Living and dying are always two sides of the same coin, and I’m sure there are many people who have experienced parting with their loved ones. He wrote lyrics that gently sympathize with the hearts of such people and transcend many different things, and made me deeply feel the sincerity of Professor Matsumoto.
I would be happy if the work could become a work that would sympathize with the hearts of many people and be a springboard for everyone’s lives. To make this happen, I would like to sing this song in a way that is close to everyone’s hearts.
This song has also become a musical piece that transcends my precious genre and other barriers. This time, the melody was written by TAKURO (GLAY), and we have been able to collaborate with wonderful people, and it feels like he is pushing me so deeply. I would like to sing “White Water Lilies” so that it can reach a wide range of people of all ages and genders. Thank you very much for your cooperation. I am truly grateful.
Comment on Kameda Seiji

Hikawa’s songs seem to welcoming the era of “Heisei” in a relaxed manner, and I always watched Hikawa sing in front of the TV with peace of mind. We were asked to produce Hikawa’s sound. I was very happy. And it felt like a very responsible thing.
First of all, the lyrics arrived first from Matsumoto Takashi. The lyrics card had the title “White Water Lilies” shining quietly. It was the first time I’ve ever seen a halo shine through a song title that was just printed without a melody yet. Matsumoto stunnedly portrayed Hikawa’s entire life in a single pop song. I had to add a melody that would draw all the lines of these lyrics…and as I thought about it, I immediately thought of GLAY’s TAKURO. The songs TAKURO writes have the power to gently envelop what lies in between, such as “light and shadow” and “soft and hardness” that resonate deep within us Japanese people.
“Shirakuri Liness” is a song that shines forever, transcending time and space, where his feelings for Hikawa, a lyricist and composer with many national hit songs, Matsumoto Takashi and GLAY’s TAKURO, have been beautifully brought to fruition. And Hikawa Kiyoshi + KIINA. sang this “White Water Lilies” with all her heart and soul. It’s a song where the beginning “connects” like ripples spreading across the surface of the water. I am very happy to be present at this miraculous moment.
Matsumoto Takashi’s comment

After KIINA. said he wanted to cover red sweet pea at a restaurant in Nishiazabu,
Actually, he wanted to write another new song, so he asked me to write the lyrics.
I was worried if I still had the talent to create new works.
I am weak to the words that people with high enka singing skills want to sing high-quality POPS. I’ve taken it on.
In the past, when lyrics were mentioned at the beginning, I thought it would sell a few times, even though it was just a piece of paper, with no songs, orgasms or songs.
Kameda is the producer, TAKURO from GLAY, and Watanabe is a production director on the site, who has been with us for a long time.
It’s an ironclad formation that can’t be missed.
Tears blew by the time the song was finished and the sound was created.
Previously, what kind of lyrics were good? He was asked, and he replied that the lyrics depicted life and death.
In that sense, this white water lilies may become one of my masterpieces.
TAKURO Comments

This is TAKURO, a guitarist from GLAY, who composed Hakuri Lily. I am very pleased that Hikawa Kiyoshi sings “White Water Lilies.” The beautiful lyrics by Matsumoto Takashi, who was greatly influenced by me, and arrangements by Kameda Seiji, have turned out to be a wonderful song. Hikawa’s singing voice gently and powerfully conveys the pain, misunderstandings and wishes for a reunion in life. I would like many people to listen to it. We hope that the “white water lilies” will bloom quietly in your hearts.
