Fujikawa Chia releases music video filmed in Sweden, the ending song for the anime “The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 4” released today

Singer-songwriter Fujikawa Chia has released the music video for her new song “Eternally One Time,” which was released digitally today, July 9th.

“Eternally Once” is a new song that will be the ending theme for the TV anime “The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 4.” The music video for this song, which was produced with the theme of “causality around the past,” was filmed in Sweden in mid-June.

The majestic natural scenery, beautiful cityscapes and historic buildings of Sweden are captured using a variety of visual techniques, making it a film that can be enjoyed not only in terms of landscape but also in terms of visual expression.

Regarding the filming, Fujikawa said, “As I was walking through the old buildings and cobblestone alleys in the historic old town, I was almost stumbling across the corner of the street (anime characters) Firo, Naofumi, Raphtalia, and Atlas…

The beautiful cityscape gave me the illusion that I had lost in the world of the story of the Shield Hero.”

The TV anime “The Rising of the Shield Hero” is based on a novel by Aneko Yusagi (Published by KADOKAWA on MF Books, The Rising of the Shield Hero, published by KADOKAWA), and began airing with a TV anime in 2019, Season 2 in 2022 and Season 3 in 2023, and Season 4 will begin airing today, July 9, 2025.

Fujikawa will hold a solo live performance on Saturday, July 26th, “FUJIKAWA CHIAI SUMMER LIVE 2025 “If cicadas are freaking out, I’ll make more noise”” in Shibuya WWW, Tokyo. He is also actively engaged in activities overseas, and in May this year he successfully performed solo concerts in Hong Kong and Shanghai, as well as holding his first solo concert in Taiwan in October.

Tickets have already been sold out.

It has also been announced that he will appear at the largest anime convention in Europe, “AnimagiC 2025,” to be held in Mannheim, Germany in August.

■About the song “Eternally One Time”

“Once Forever” was written as the ending theme for the anime “The Rising of the Shield Hero: Season 4.” This song contains the theme of “causality surrounding the past.”

I think the lyrics “This journey is a journey to know you” are words that symbolize this story. During this season, the main character, Naofumi, is once again asked about the bonds he has built with his friends, the miracle of meetings, and the determination to protect them.

This feeling is relevant to all my friends, but I wrote the lyrics with Raphtalia, Atla and Foul in particular in mind. Raphtalia is trying to move forward despite carrying a painful past and destiny, and although Atla is said to be sickly and short-lived, he is an existence where he finds his own reasons to live by meeting Naofumi.

Even if their past and births are connected to something that will destroy the present…

Still, this encounter remains unshakable.

I think that’s what Naofumi wants to convey to his friends.

The phrase “Eternally One Meeting” has a strong desire to protect it, even if it was only once, it was so important that it lasted forever, and that is why it was so important that it would last forever.

In terms of music, unlike the pure ballads up until the previous album, it is an up-tempo song with a sense of speed that makes you feel strong hope for the future. We asked Takeda Yusuke (Elements Garden) to compose and arrange the music.

I would be happy if this song could be quietly sympathetic to Naofumi and his friends, who face the past and cause and effect, but also to protect their loved ones, as well as the stories of each and every listener.

■About MV “Eternally One Time”

The music video for “Once Forever” was filmed in Sweden.

Before filming, I was considering filming in Turkey in line with Schiltveld’s image (though it’s just my own image), but in the end I ended up filming in Scandinavia, which I’ve been interested in for a while.

The Swedish summer day is very long, and the world, with only 4-5 hours of nights, was a bit of a different world for me (lol).

As I walked through old buildings and cobblestone alleys in the historic old town, I was almost upon a corner of the street to find Firo, Naofumi, Raphtalia and Atlas. The beautiful cityscape gave me the illusion that I had lost in the world of the story of the Shield Hero.

To tell you the truth, at the time of writing this comment, I haven’t seen the music video yet (lol), but I’m looking forward to the completion of the work just like you all. Please enjoy not only the anime, but also the music video “Once Forever.”

NEW![Comment from Director Jinguji Hidemasa]

I felt that “Once Forever” was a light and liberating song, completely different from the ending theme of “The Rising of the Shield Hero.” To avoid being defeated by this dynamic feeling, this work is produced using a variety of video technologies.

This MV was filmed in Sweden. In addition to the majestic and tranquil nature of Sweden, we also take photos of Stockholm’s serene cityscape and the ancient castle that gives a sense of history. I think these everyday yet somewhat special scenery overlapped with the themes of “eternity” and “meeting” of the song, as well as the loneliness and determination that the characters face, and the deeper worldview.

In addition to Fujikawa Chia’s singing voice, this music video will be enjoyed not only in terms of Sweden’s beautiful cityscapes, nature, and historic buildings, but also in terms of visual expression. We would be happy if you could feel the world of “Once Forever” in conjunction with the music and video.
