Slipknot released in 1999 by SLIPKNOT, a shocking debut album that symbolizes the end of the century and is the most important piece in metal history. This work is now available as a newly revamped 2CD work, “Slipknot (25th Anniversary Edition),” to commemorate the 25th anniversary of its release!
This work, which will be released overseas on September 5th and in Japan on September 10th, will be released in a form of a two-disc CD edition that will also be released in Japan, as well as a two-disc analog edition that will only be available as imported versions, and digital distribution. In addition, from this 25th anniversary work, “Prosthetics (Demo),” an unreleased sound source, is currently being released.
This “Slipknot (25th Anniversary Edition)” immortalizes the creative process of nine Iowa natives, when they grew from a new metal band to a new generation of heavy music, and into a “cultural force” that transcends the genre. The two-disc CD and two-disc analog album, which will be released as a general distribution, include an original album released in 1999 produced by Ross Robinson, as well as valuable demo audio sources, alternative mixes, and more. Another notable feature is that it is a newly renovated artwork to commemorate the 25th anniversary of its release.
The demo of all seven songs included on this CD 2, including three unreleased tracks, is an original demo that the band recorded with Ross Robinson before entering the Indigo Ranch (studio). These songs were then further refined in the studio and released into the world as their debut albums, but some of the demos that can be heard here are also used in the final mix of the album. The band and label wanted to test mixes before they finally complete the album, so they commissioned two well-known mixers, Jay Baumgardner and Ulrich Wild, to test mixes. Four test and mix songs from that time are also included in this work as unreleased audio sources.
