Wataru Sawabe’s new song from his solo project Skirt, “Nami no Nai Natsu feat. adieu”, the theme song for the movie “Zero Meter Depth”, was released on May 3rd, and the official audio was also released on YouTube. Ta.
The movie “From Zero Meter Depth” is the second high school drama reboot project following the 2020 smash hit movie “The Edge of the Alps Stand” (directed by Hideo Shirosada). Based on the Tokushima City High School play “From Zero Meter Depth” (Yumeka Nakata), which won the “Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award (Best Award)” at the 44th Shikoku District High School Drama Research Conference in 2019, and directed by Yumika Nakata. He worked on the blockbuster movie “Karaoke Go!” starring Go Ayano. ” directed by Atsuhiro Yamashita.
This is an unusual release for Sawabe, who has been in charge of the theme song and musical accompaniment for two movies in a row since his previous work “Kimi wa Kitto Zutsu Shiranai Shiranai”.
The guest vocalist will be adieu (Moka Kamishiraishi), with whom Sawabe has been in contact for some time, including providing music. The calm yet addictive sound of feedback noise and adieu’s steady singing add beauty to the song, creating a song that gives off a sad and gentle impression.
The movie “From Zero Meter Depth” will be released nationwide from May 3rd, so be sure to go to the theaters.

STORY
Summer vacation for second year students at Tokushima Minami High School.
Miku, a shy girl who doesn’t want to be seen practicing Awa Odori, and Kokoro, who doesn’t feel comfortable unless she’s wearing make-up, are instructed by physical education teacher Yamamoto to clean a pool with no water in it as a special supplementary lesson for swimming class. The bottom of the pool was filled with sand that had flown from the baseball club field next door. The two of them reluctantly start sweeping the sand, Chizuru, a desperate member of the swimming club, is there for some reason, and Yui, a 3-year senior who has retired from the swimming club, joins her and their club activities, love, and make-up. As time passes, their worries gradually begin to overflow, and their thoughts sometimes cross paths and sometimes collide, but where will they go…?

An unhealthy pop band that has gained a reputation among people of all professions, genders, and ages for their somewhat dark yet refreshing songwriting and band ensemble.
In 2006, Wataru Sawabe’s solo project began with a focus on recording through overdubbing. In 2010, he started his own label, Katuka Sounds, and began his career in earnest with the release of his first album “S.O.S.”.
In April 2021, he was in charge of the opening theme song “ODDTAXI” for the anime “Odd Taxi” in collaboration with PUNPEE. With his extensive knowledge of comedy, in September 2023, he served as a judge for the final round of the comedy award race “UNDER 25 OWARAI CHAMPIONSHIP” for those under 25 years old, and also wrote the theme song for the competition, “Expectations and Premonitions.” He is also involved in the production of numerous animation works, movies, drama soundtracks, and music. He has also provided songs to Takashi Fujii, Kaede (Negicco), Toko Miura, adieu (Moeka Kamishiraishi) and others due to his songwriting sense. Furthermore, as a multi-player, Sawabe himself has participated in live shows and recordings with Spitz, Makoto Kawamoto, and the Moon Riders, whom Sawabe himself respects.He is a wonderful singer-songwriter and band member that has attracted attention for his versatile talent and genre-regardless nature.
