It has been decided that Nonga will participate as an invited artist in the contemporary art festival “Kobe Rokko Meets Art 2024 Beyond” (August 24th – November 24th), which will be held on Mt. Rokko in Kobe. .

At this art festival, Non will be exhibiting ribbon art that she has been working on. Characterized by a style that uses a large amount of ribbons, the eeriness and cuteness collide, and ribbons are wrapped around Tohoku’s traditional crafts, “kokeshi lanterns” and “akabeko,” which were unveiled at Sendai PARCO in October 2023. The works will also appear.

In addition to the works that have been announced so far, new works are also scheduled to be released. The exhibition location is scheduled to be on the third floor of the Mori-no-Oto Hall of the ROKKO Mori-Oto Museum.

It’s been almost 7 years since I started my art activities. I still have a burning desire to create, and I’ve been looking at my own work ever since, and finally found what I think is perfect. I’ve been making ribbon art for four years, but I’m still discovering many more possibilities.
Insect-like ribbons, human-body-like ribbons, dust-like ribbons, and other cute ribbons transform into eerily and reveal various images.
I am looking forward to exhibiting the ribbon-covered works to my satisfaction at Mt. Rokko.
I hope that the ribbon art will gradually scatter and stir everyone’s emotions.
Please come and be disturbed.
