Atsuki Taketomo to Perform Theme Song for the Movie “BLOODY ESCAPE”

Atsuki Taketomo Releases Music Video for “BLOODY ESCAPE – Jigoku no Tousougeki” Theme Song “Tokumei Kibou”

Atsuki Taketomo has released the music video for his latest song, “Tokumei Kibou (Anonymous Strategy)”, the theme song for the nationwide roadshow movie “BLOODY ESCAPE – Jigoku no Tousougeki (Hell’s Escape Drama)” on January 5th. The music video is a collaboration with the movie, featuring intense battle scenes and characters striving to overcome their sorrows and injuries to forge a future. The song was also released for streaming on January 5th.

Additionally, it was announced that band members whom Atsuki Taketomo himself respects participated in the production of this song. These include KEYTALK’s Takenori Ono (Gt), THE ORAL CIGARETTES’ Akirakani Akira (Ba), and Frederic’s Takeshi Takahashi (Dr). The song is described as technical, melodic, and intensely rock.

<Atsuki Taketomo’s Comment>

“To be able to create a song with the people who produced ‘that sound’ which echoed in every scene of my life – whether it was passionately singing in karaoke with friends during my student days, telling my bandmates ‘I want to make a song this cool’ while playing it through the rehearsal studio speakers, or blasting it in my room on a downhearted night to blow away my worries. Even though I had a band period, I had never made a fast-paced rock tune as Atsuki Taketomo, so at the demo stage, I felt something was missing. Probably, it was the ‘convincing power’ of the sound. Takenori-san’s guitar sound, which is both technically and emotionally peak, cool yet passionate, naughty yet charming; Akira-san’s bassline, so ‘delicious’ that you could eat three bowls of rice just by focusing on it, complementing the melody; Takeshi-san’s beats, perfectly controlled yet boundlessly free, supremely rock yet connecting to entirely different genres… Together, they create a rock tune with overwhelming convincing power. It’s just awesome. I’m sure if I played it to my younger self, he would definitely say, ‘I want to make a song this cool’.”

<Guitar. Takenori Ono (KEYTALK) Comment>

“I participated in this recording with the image of devouring every single grain of Atsuki Taketomo-kun’s sophisticated brain visuals that lurk between analog and digital, using my guitar. The chemistry described in the conversations between engineer Kei-san and Atsuki-kun, catching those moments as the sound burgeons, was just like being in a band. I was captivated by his unfettered music exploration spirit, not to mention his sense of music. This work, ‘Tokumei Kibou (Anonymous Strategy)’, is packed with his charm, so please enjoy every bit of it!”

<Bass. Akirakani Akira (THE ORAL CIGARETTES) Comment>

“Atsuki told me, ‘Go ahead and do whatever you like,’ so I did exactly that. I was thrilled to be chosen for wanting a rock band’s taste. This was my first encounter with Atsuki Taketomo’s inner ambitions. His exploratory spirit, both passionate and stoic, something you wouldn’t expect from his usually calm demeanor, made for an electrifying recording session. With familiar instrumentalists like Takeshi-kun and Takenori-kun, the song felt like we were all teaming up to take down a common enemy of humanity. Congratulations on the release! I’m eager to hear it in the cinemas too.”

<Drums. Takeshi Takahashi (Frederic) Comment>

“I participated in the recording on drums this time! I think you can strongly feel Atsuki-kun’s songwriting and vocal power when you listen to the song, and on top of that, the live feeling is incredible! It has such a presence that some might even believe it’s a live recording. The meticulous yet bold arrangement is all thanks to Atsuki-kun’s direction! Thanks for letting me join, Atsuki-kun!”

The movie “BLOODY ESCAPE – Jigoku no Tousougeki (Hell’s Escape Drama)” is a wildly violent action film directed, written, and conceived by Satoru Taniguchi. Both the movie and Atsuki Taketomo’s song deserve attention.

Artist Profile: Atsuki Taketomo

Began his career in July 2020, Atsuki Taketomo is a new generation musician, handling his own lyrics, composition, and arrangement. With a deep understanding of a wide range of music cultivated while working part-time at a used record store, he combines elements of pop and alternative music to explore a new standard in J-POP that has yet to exist in the world. He sings about his personal struggles to fit in and the subtle discomforts hidden in everyday life, setting them to catchy melodies.

He says, “”When you buy onigiri at a convenience store, you want the standard fillings like umeboshi (pickled plum) or okaka (bonito flakes), but it’s exciting to find irregular flavors like tuna mayo or pork kimchi, right? I want to create pop music like that – maybe a bit off from the usual, but a delightful find.””

His fully self-produced 1st album “”Mukuchina Hito (The Taciturn)”” released in September 2020, received positive feedback from early-adopter music fans, selected for many playlists on streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music despite no promotion. His singles “”Outsider”” (released in 2022) and “”Jien Otoko (Self-Promoting Man)”” (released in 2023) have garnered attention, making it onto the Billboard Heatseekers and J-WAVE TOKIO HOT 100 charts.
