“Tsubomi” is a song written as the ending theme for the seventh season of the TV anime “My Hero Academia,” which began broadcasting on May 4th. A figure suffering from the difference in values between others and one’s own, and no matter how much one feels for the other person, one’s hearts and minds can never become one. Even so, she powerfully sings about her strong desire to never give up on understanding each other, with a fast-paced beat that changes rapidly, and a sound that feels like energy rising from inside her body. It was released for distribution on May 5th, and immediately entered the Spotify Rising Chart, becoming a hot topic among anime fans overseas as well.

The MV to be released this time has the concept of “co-starring different things” such as “desolation and color,” “artificial and nature,” and “salvation and fear.” It is composed of a solo scene that feels lonely yet strong and beautiful, a scene in which the three perform in front of an LED vision that appears in a devastated natural world, and a scene in which the boys appear. The strength and beauty of the song, as well as the struggling emotions, are expressed through scenes in which the three perform powerfully in front of images that emit vivid and noisy colors in a desolate natural environment, and are sometimes ugly and sometimes beautiful.

As each scene unfolds in time with the song, you can feel the speed and dynamism of the rapidly changing beat of the song, creating a different world where hope and suffering coexist, something that has not been seen in Omoinotake’s previous MVs. The director is Takuro Okubo, an up-and-coming video director who also worked on the music video for his previous work, “Hillions of Light Years,” and has created numerous other video works.
