A new post-sauna staple! Get ahead of the summer with ice-cold “Dai Tokyo Ondo” sung by Wilkinson and Ikoma Rina!

Recently, Asahi Soft Drinks’ “Wilkinson” and STARBASE announced a collaboration with a popular public bath in Tokyo as part of a branding project.

This collaboration was carried out at two popular public baths, Hottayu and Bunkayokusen, with the aim of conveying the new routine of “drinking chilled carbonated water after a sauna” and the deliciousness of carbonated water.

As the second part of the project, it has been decided that a collaborative song with Wilkinson will be released this year as well.

The artist chosen for the song is Ikoma Rina, who is active as an actress.

The release of Ikoma’s first solo single since graduation is sure to attract a lot of attention.

The project song this time is a remake of the famous Showa era song “Dai Tokyo Ondo,” arranged into a modern version.
“Dai Tokyo Ondo” is a song for the general dance that was planned as a commemorative event for the 15th anniversary of the launch of Tokyo 12 Channel (now TV Tokyo). The easy-to-sing, large-scale song, composed by People’s Honor Award-winning composer Endo Minoru, has become a familiar staple song for Bon Odori in Tokyo.

The Showa era classic “Dai Tokyo Ondo” has been reborn in the Reiwa era as a Bon dance tune that will make you want to start dancing! This song brings good old Japanese culture back to life, and is sure to be the anthem of summer 2024!

We hope you enjoy this song together with Wilkinson, who is known to be a big fan of saunas and carbonated drinks.

A collaborative video with Wilkinson, “Buzz Movie,” featuring Ikoma, will be released on Instagram soon!

It has also been decided that a music video will be produced featuring the artist himself.

Additionally, the song will be available to listen to ahead of its release at the collaborative public bathhouse where the event is currently being held.

We hope you will enjoy the reborn Showa era classics with a Wilkinson in hand.
