Taeko Onuki gives a sneak preview of “Tokai” from her latest live album to be released in May!


Taeko Onuki will release an audio and video recording of her latest live performance, “Taeko Onuki Concert 2023,” on Wednesday, May 22nd.

The film will be released, but a snippet of “City” was released in advance today.

The popular song “Tokai” is loved all over the world and is performed by Hirokazu Ogura (Gt), Masato Suzuki (Ba),

◆Profile

Born in Tokyo.

In 1973, he formed Sugar Babe with Tatsuro Yamashita and others. They released the album “SONGS” in 1975 and disbanded in 1976.

In the same year, he made his solo debut with “Grey Skies.”

Since their concert at Suntory Hall in 1987, they have continued to perform both as a band and as an acoustic performer.

To date, they have released 27 original albums.

Her writings include the essay collection “My Lifestyle” (Shinchosha, 2013) and many others.

He has also worked on many commercial, movie, TV and game music projects, including the main theme of the film “Shall we Dance?” (directed by Suo Masayuki, 1996) and the music production for “Tokyo Weather” (directed by Takenaka Naoto, 1998/winner of the 21st Japan Academy Award for Best Music).

He has worked on numerous soundtracks, including “The Metropolitan Museum of Art” and “Peter Rabbit and Me.”

They are also known for their songs that are easy for children to relate to.

In the recent city pop boom, her second album “SUNSHOWER” became a hot topic, and many albums were released in the 2010s.

It was re-released on vinyl.
