15 Girls, latest novel and promotional video released! Mephisto Award-winning author Takumi Mochizuki depicts “the expressions that had to be changed and the contradictions that could not be changed of the girls who vowed to be together forever.”

The media mix project “15 Girls” is garnering attention for its cyberpunk worldview, dystopian music, and sharp juvenile novels that cut through the modern world. Today, the latest novel was announced and a promotional video was released!

The author is Takumi Mochizuki, winner of the 54th Mephisto Award for “How to Save the Girl Who Loses Her Memory Every Year.”

Previously, there have been works that candidly depict the various pains that are mercilessly thrust upon the teenage protagonists, such as bullying, suicide, and neglect, but this 10th work is a mystery that begins when one of the 15-year-old girls, “Tatsumi Aqua,” goes missing after saying that she is taking a (possibly fake) adult bus, and leads to the truth behind a series of disappearances that are also occurring around another 15-year-old girl, “Misogi Meme,” an entrepreneur who has built up a large fortune despite being a high school student. The work also depicts the “individual decisions” made by the two girls and their childhood friends, “Sarukai Saki” and “Itachi Rin,” regarding their friendships that were almost broken because of their beliefs.

In addition, an audio drama based on the novel is released every Monday and Thursday, attracting attention for its participation by a star-studded cast of voice actors.

Each episode of the prequel novel series features a theme song sung by the Fifteen Girls themselves, and this work has been assigned the song “Eureka”!

The word “Eureka” is an ancient Greek exclamation with the nuance of “Finally, I’ve found it!” In the vast space that contains the still-expanding universe, in a multi-layered world like a matryoshka doll that continues on forever, all we tiny people can realize is that we “don’t understand”… This song expresses the recklessness of adolescence, which chooses to “long for” rather than “give up”, that is, “the youthful, sad feeling that we lose as we become adults”.

On the musical side, the voice actor for the songs is “mzsrz,” and as the previously unknown “reason why they sing” is revealed, the story and the music are gradually but profoundly synchronizing.
