■ Synopsis of the final episode
Aoi (Nakamura Anne) finds conclusive evidence that points to the real culprit at Ide’s (Mori Yusaku) general store. At that moment, one of her classmates, Asuka Momo (Oda Risa), appears in front of Aoi. Aoi is shocked to learn the true identity of the serial killer. Momo admits that she was responsible for all the murders. Aoi loses consciousness when Momo presses a stun gun against him.

Kosaka (Yokoyama Yu) was listening to the conversation between Aoi and the real culprit through Aoi’s smartphone, which was on a call, but suddenly the sound cuts out and he realizes that something strange has happened to Aoi. When Kizaki (Tsubokura Yoshiyuki) and Natsume (Higuchi Kohei) rush to Ide’s general store, they find that Aoi has already been taken away. Kosaka calls Ide, who has been sent to the Metropolitan Police Department headquarters, back to Nono Police Station to try to get clues as to where Momo kidnapped Aoi. Awakening, Aoi confronts Momo in a restrained state. What is the promise they made 16 years ago that Momo tells Aoi about? What is the “truth 16 years later” that Aoi has been pursuing?
