Broadway musical star Matthew Morrison has released his heartfelt message song to young people, “Find the Friend in Me,” exclusively in Japan!

Broadway musical star Matthew Morrison, who was in Japan to perform the Broadway musical “Chicago” from April 25th to May 5th, 2024, volunteered to participate and write and sing the Voice of Youth JAPAN 5th Anniversary Song “Find the Friend in Me” by Matthew Morrison with Voice of Youth JAPAN, which was released exclusively in Japan.

We live in an age where the voiceless voices of youth who are marginalized due to differences such as gender or disability, or bullying, are being drowned out.
“Find the Friend in Me” is a ballad filled with a message. Matthew Morrison wrote and sang the lyrics himself, as he sympathized with the desire of the “Voice of Youth JAPAN” project, which aims to create a safe place where diverse young people can share their voices.

Voice of Youth JAPAN promotes a new culture of communicating through art, and is a project run by students from the University of Tokyo UNiTe in collaboration with UN agencies and other organizations.

The music for “Find the Friend in Me” was produced by TEAM 3 NIN, a music creator team that supports the Voice of Youth JAPAN project.

The lyric video for “Find the Friend in Me,” which was released today, was produced by Hagino Satoko, who is currently a graduate student at the University of Tokyo.
The lyric video is a calm, warm animated video with Japanese translation to help convey the message easily.
