≒JOY (Nearly Equal Joy) is the “third group” following =LOVE (Equal Love) and ≠ME (Not Equal Me), idol groups produced by Rino Sashihara. Their first single “Gyokukan Disco” was released yesterday and won 86,878 points on the Oricon Daily Single Ranking for 6/11/2024, with a cumulative shipment of over 130,000 copies, and debuted at No. 1. The buzz is still going strong. Today, the music video for the new song “Nevagiba! Ikiro” from the first single was released.
The new song “Never Give Up! Live” is a gentle, supportive song from ≒JOY to help you love yourself even when you’re feeling down today or gloomy tomorrow, and to encourage you to live without giving up.
The music video is made up of scenes of the members lip-syncing to convey a heartfelt message, as well as dancing scenes set against the magnificent backdrop of the vast sky.
It’s a heartwarming music video that will inspire everyone, so be sure to check it out and pay attention to the touching scene at the end where the members run into the sunset.
≒JOY’s debut mini album “Kitto, Zettai, Zettai” released in January exceeded 100,000 copies shipped on the first day of release, which is unusual for a debut work by a new artist, and it debuted at number one on both the Oricon Weekly Album Ranking and Billboard JAPAN Top Albums Sales. Be sure to keep an eye on the developments of their first single released this week.
Also, this weekend, on June 15th (Sat), a special release event will be held to celebrate the release of ≒JOY’s first single, “Gyakukan Disco,” at Stella Town Omiya’s 1F outdoor Merope Square. This event will be ≒JOY’s first event with free admission, so please come along and participate in this very special event. Also, please check the details of the farewell party for those who purchase the CD.
≒JOY is a group that is making waves in all areas and will be one to watch in the future.

★Profile
This is the third group formed by Rino Sashihara to produce her ideal idol, following =LOVE and ≠ME. The final audition was held on January 30, 2022, and on March 29, 2022, the members were unveiled and producer Rino Sashihara herself announced that the group would be named “≒JOY”. On September 3 last year, the ≒JOY 1st concert “Nice to meet you, we are ≒JOY” was held at the National Hall of Pacifico Yokohama, and from the end of last year to the beginning of this year, the first tour ≒JOY 1st Tour “Absolute” was held and was a great success. The debut mini album “Kitto, Zettai, Zettai” was released on Wednesday, January 17th. (They debuted at number one on both the Oricon Weekly Album Ranking and Billboard JAPAN Top Albums Sales. They shipped over 100,000 copies on the first day of release.) On February 24th of this year, they held the ≒JOY 2nd ANNIVERSARY PREMIUM CONCERT, which attracted an audience of about 8,000 people at Tokyo International Forum Hall A to celebrate their second anniversary. On June 12th (Wednesday), they released their long-awaited first single, “Taiikukan Disco.” The name ≒JOY is filled with Rino Sashihara’s wish that “when the members meet the fans who support them, they will feel joy and happiness.”
