Mari Sasano’s “Kyoso” music video combines live action and illustrations to depict the struggles of mice
Sasano Marii has announced that the music video for “Kyousuzumi,” the theme song for the drama “Machiname Terasu Yatsura,” starring Morimoto Shintaro (SixTONES), will premiere on June 15th at 9pm.
Saturday Drama 10 “The Street Lighters” is about a cake shop owner who runs a struggling business in a rundown shopping district, but ends up committing crimes to protect his beloved store and family. This is a human entertainment of laughter and bonds that unfolds for the sake of his friends and the shopping district.
This song was written with the drama “Those Who Illuminate the Streets” in mind, and is about the absurdity of the world and how to look forward when it feels like you can’t see anything else in front of you.
The music video depicts the struggles of cornered mice in a world that combines live action and illustrations.
■ Comment from Mari Sasano
This time, I will be in charge of the theme song! I’m Mari Sasano. Nice to meet you. Thank you. When I saw the synopsis, I thought, “This is my favorite…” and I wanted to create a song that would fit this work. It’s a personal thing, but when I was creating this song, I pushed myself to do a lot of things that I haven’t done before in music creation. As for the lyrics, I wrote it with the theme of the absurdity that is found here and there in the world, and “how to look forward when it seems like you can’t see what’s ahead,” and I titled it Kyuso (Cornered Mouse). I hope you enjoy it along with the main story!!!
