“RIDE ON TIME” follows King & Prince on their first arena tour together! “If only I could stay with this person forever…”

■ “Kaito is the one who is pulling the performance forward right now. I want to support him in other ways.” (Nagase Ren)

The serial documentary “RIDE ON TIME” is available on Netflix every Tuesday. The latest episode, released on June 18th, featured King & Prince.

The program will cover the group’s nationwide arena tour “King & Prince LIVE TOUR 2023 ~Peace~” in detail over a seven-month period.

King & Prince celebrated their fifth debut anniversary in 2023. Nagase Ren and Takahashi Kaito (the official spelling of “taka” is はしごだか) have made a new start together.

■ “I was really nervous” on the day they stood in front of their fans for the first time

June. King & Prince will be doing various jobs, including appearing live on an information program and taking photos for the cover of their 5th album “Peace.”
was present.

Takahashi, who will be taking on the role of a popular comedian in the lead role drama, said, “It’s hard to learn the manzai routines, and I don’t have time to be ‘Kaito Takahashi.'” During the busy filming period, the group was split into two. What was Takahashi’s state of mind at the time?

The following July, the new lineup held their first fan meeting. “I was really nervous,” said Nagase.
They take on the challenge of hosting the MC for “Senashi”! The inside story of the first time they stood in front of their fans together is revealed.

■ Intense practice of the dance reconstructed for “two people”! “It’s surprisingly awesome…?”

After the fan meeting, they move on to preparations for the national tour. Takahashi makes a plan for the set list for the first time, and Nagase shows his commitment to his stage costumes.

“It’s hard to wait for Ren when it comes to costumes,” said Takahashi. Nagase himself said, “It took so long… I’m sorry!” as he talked about his feelings for the performance.

In parallel with the meeting, dance rehearsals began.
The performance of the songs has been reconstructed for the two of them.

While practicing, the two honestly expressed their thoughts, saying, “It’s surprisingly difficult…” (Takahashi), “The standing positions and song parts up to now have become ingrained in our bodies” (Nagase), and “It’s difficult to relearn that for the two-person version” (Takahashi).

However, they said, “We want to include songs from when we were a 5-member group in the setlist.” Here, they explain why.

The first day of the tour arrived in August.

Nagase encouraged himself by saying, “It all starts today…!”, while Takahashi was so nervous…!?

In addition to introducing scenes from King & Prince’s live performance one after another, the two look back on a scene where Nagase said, “The cheers from the audience were amazing!” and a song that Takahashi said, “These lyrics are the best way to get this across to our fans.”

In October, midway through the tour, backstage at the Yokohama performance, Takahashi showed off his unique worldview by saying, “The shape of the venue is like a giant clam,” and “Yokohama performance. Xiaolongbao!” What was Nagase’s reaction…?

In between tours, Nagase also takes on the challenge of filming a movie in which he plays the lead role.

He reveals a certain belief, saying, “Even though we are now a two-person team, I still keep the same awareness when I’m working individually.”

And in December, the national tour finally reaches its final day. During the performance, Nagase notices a change in Takahashi and asks, “What’s wrong, Kaito?”

■ King & Prince talk about “restarting”
King & Prince have restarted as a duo.

In an interview where they each looked back on the past year, Nagase said, “Kaito is the one pulling our current performance. In return, I would like to support him in other areas,” and Takahashi began talking about his feelings for Nagase, saying, “I’m grateful to Ren for always thinking about me. If I could stay with this person forever…”
