Global boy band “NEXZ” to hold press conference and talk event announcing their Japanese debut!! “NEXZ × Spotify TALK EVENT” will be suddenly archived and available on YouTube for 2 weeks only!!

“NEXZ” is a global boy band born from the Japan-Korea joint audition project “Nizi Project Season 2” by JYP and Sony Music.

On May 20th, shortly after making their long-awaited global debut, NEXZ’s first Korean release, “Ride the Vibe,” reached No. 1 on the daily Physical Album Chart and No. 3 on the weekly chart on Korea’s Hanteo Chart.

The music video for their debut song “Ride the Vibe” is a youth ensemble drama that only a band with an average age of 17.4 could express. The emotional visual world, reminiscent of a short film, attracted a lot of attention, achieving over 10 million views on YouTube within three days of its release, and has currently surpassed 31 million views.

With this unstoppable momentum, NEXZ held a press conference at Tokyo Tower on June 14th to announce their Japanese debut.

HYUI selected Tokyo Tower as the venue for the press conference because, “I want to become a big presence that is loved by people all over the world, like Tokyo Tower,” and a huge number of media gathered at Club333, located in a corner of the main deck of Tokyo Tower, showing once again the high expectations for NEXZ.

Although NEXZ exuded a sense of inexperience and nervousness, they took to the stage with determination.

After the photo session, the seven members introduced themselves, beginning with YU, who is like a “mother” to the group.

HARU greeted the press by saying, “I’m good at expressing myself in a variety of ways,” SO GEON’s “charm point is my mole that looks like a chocolate chip,” TOMOYA’s “I’m the leader. I’ll do my best!”, YUKI’s “I’m the youngest and I love fried food,” HYUI’s “charm point is my bright smile,” and SEITA’s “charm point is the mole near my eye.”

Regarding the origin of the fan name “NEX2Y” (pronounced: Nexty), YU explained in his own words, “It’s a name that conveys the meaning of ‘NEXT 2(to) YOU,’ and that NEXZ and NEX2Y will always be by each other’s side.”

When touching upon their appearance at “2024 Show! Music Core in JAPAN” at the 30,000-capacity Belluna Dome on Sunday, June 30th, and the Vissel Kobe vs. Tottenham Hotspur match at the “Meiji Yasuda J.League World Challenge 2024 powered by docomo” at the National Stadium, which boasts a capacity of approximately 68,000 people, on Saturday, July 27th, SO GEON spoke passionately of their dream, saying, “I want to become a group that can one day hold a solo concert at the National Stadium.”

Also, the track listing for the band’s first Japan EP, “Ride the Vibe (Japanese Ver.) / Keep on Moving,” was released for the first time at this press conference.

The album includes the title track “Ride the Vibe (Japanese Ver.)”, the Aquarius commercial song “Keep on Moving”, and “Miracle”, which was pre-released last December. It has also been announced that the first production limited edition B will include a bonus track, “Here & Now”, the opening theme of the audition program “Nizi Project Season 2”.

The Japan 1st EP “Ride the Vibe (Japanese Ver.) / Keep on Moving” will be released in 10 formats, including a NEX2Y version (7 versions for each member) that can be purchased exclusively by FANCLUB members. Each version has different visuals and each version comes with its own special bonuses, such as a video, NEXZINE, photo card, mini NEXZ sticker, 4 cuts from their lives, another jacket, and a handwritten letter.

The luxurious content of “Ride the Vibe (Japanese Ver.) / Keep on Moving,” which will mark NEXZ’s “Japan debut” on Wednesday, August 21st, gives us a sense of their firm determination for their Japanese debut.

During the question and answer session, in response to a reporter’s question, “If you had to describe NEXZ in one word?” TOMOYA gave a brilliant answer, “In one word, it’d be ‘museum.’ Each of the seven members has their own color and personality, and when we come together we can demonstrate the kind of charm that a museum has.”

In response to the question, “Did JY Park say anything to you on the occasion of your Japanese debut?” HARU replied, “He said to me, ‘I watched all the footage of you appearing on music shows, and you’re doing really well. I can see how much you’ve practiced. If you keep working hard like this, you’ll definitely become a big group, so don’t forget how you feel now and keep working hard,’ and I was really happy.”

Next up will be the “NEXZ × Spotify TALK EVENT” to celebrate their Japanese debut.

This event was limited to 70 Spotify listeners who were selected through a narrow selection process, and was a feast for the eyes, as they could enjoy both NEXZ and the stunning location with the towering Tokyo Tower in the background.

A runway leading to the stage was prepared in the middle of the venue, and when the NEXZ members appeared through the door and walked down the runway, they were greeted with thunderous cheers that were hard to believe coming from 70 people, and the excitement in the venue rose all at once.

Following the press conference, the seven members took to the stage in a relaxed mood, with announcer Takeda Shinichi acting as emcee.

The event will feature plans that give a glimpse into the personalities of each NEXZ member, such as introductions by the other members and a “Onegai! NEXZ” corner where they will respond to requests from fans who have submitted in advance.

During the member introductions, YU initiated a flurry of “dad jokes” that YUKI is good at (?), SEITA, a former child model, did a model walk down the runway during “Onegai! NEXZ”, and TOMOYA recreated a famous quote that became a hot topic during “Nizi Project Season 2” in a different form, and the members’ personalities that we don’t usually see exploded.

What’s more, there was a surprise reveal of some previously unreleased choreography during the explanation of the dance key points for the new song, “Keep on Moving.”

During the second half of the event, Tokyo Tower was lit up, creating a scene that seemed as if everyone was celebrating NEXZ’s Japanese debut together.

The NEXZ members also seemed to enjoy their special time with NEX2Y to the fullest.

In addition, to commemorate their Japanese debut, the “NEXZ × Spotify TALK EVENT” was streamed live on YouTube on the day of the event and was well received, but in response to numerous requests and enthusiastic voices from fans such as “I want to see it again!”, “Please archive it!”, and “I’m looking forward to the archived version!”, it was decided at short notice to archive the event.

The video will be available on YouTube for a limited time from Sunday, June 16th to Sunday, June 30th for two weeks.

We hope you will take a look at the “NEXZ × Spotify TALK EVENT,” which is highly acclaimed as a “divine project,” and experience the charm of NEXZ once again.

NEXZ made a triumphant return to Japan to announce their decision to make their “Japanese debut,” causing a huge buzz.

With their Japan debut on Wednesday, August 21st with their first EP, “Ride the Vibe (Japanese Ver.) / Keep on Moving,” they are set to carve out the future of the music scene.
