Singer, Vocaloid producer, and virtual singer. Singer-songwriter Upsilon, who could be said to represent the next generation of music, has released his mini album “Signifie.”
“Signifie” is a challenging album that focuses on the “signifie” aspect of the “sound” and “meaning” that make up words. It explores the various meanings and expressive possibilities of words and expresses them through music.
Upsilon said, “I wrote the lyrics and music for all five songs on this album. It’s been four years since I started this project, and while I can feel that I’ve grown, the fundamental message I want to convey through my music remains the same, and this album is one where the dots connect together. It also includes a song I wrote when I was 14 years old.”
Additionally, the music video for “Dial,” a song from Signifie, will premiere on Upsilon’s YouTube channel from 9:00 p.m. on June 19th.
Regarding this song, he said, “When I was still daydreaming about becoming a singer, I would make icons by choosing emotions in the icon maker and get excited all by myself. I wrote this song by remembering the time when I would draw stories in the corner of the classroom without playing with my friends. The music video is also based on that story. After completing the work, I realized that there is no difference at all between then and now. I want to continue to draw my own story. The big difference from back then is that now I’m not alone, but I have someone to draw with me.” The music video is an animated MV that matches the song.
