Yamashita Mizuki’s first drama since graduating from Nogizaka46! She plays a reporter in the drama “Furi-Pile Lonely Death” starring Narita Ryo.

■ “It is my duty as a reporter to reveal everything, but at the same time, I want to play the role with care, focusing on what I want to protect as a human being.” (Yamashita Mizuki)

It has been decided that Yamashita Mizuki will appear in the Yomiuri TV/Nippon TV Sunday drama “Furitsumore Kodoku na Shi yo” (broadcast starting July 7th). For Yamashita, this will be her first drama appearance since graduating from Nogizaka46.

The drama “Fall, Pile Up, Lonely Death” starring Narita Ryo is a crime entertainment piece based on the comic of the same name currently being serialized in Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket.

The skeletons of 13 children were found in what is known as the “Haikawa Residence Incident.” A mysterious mark left at the scene reappears after seven years. A mysterious communal life, a suspect known as “Father,” six survivors, and layers of hidden truths. A human suspense story where the mysteries pile up and lead to an unpredictable ending. Who on earth took the children’s lives, and for what reason?

Mizuki Yamashita plays Mori Touko, a reporter for the weekly magazine “Weekly Bunen” who investigates the disappearance of a young girl that occurred in 2024, seven years after the Haikawa House incident. During her investigation, she notices a connection between the young girl’s disappearance and the Haikawa House incident, and becomes an original character for the drama who tries to uncover the truth behind the past incident.

■Part of the main footage has been released!
Some of the footage from the film, which features a star-studded cast, has been released ahead of time.

A mansion standing in the middle of greenery. The skeletal remains of 13 children are found there… The lead actor Narita Ryo plays a detective investigating the gruesome crime, while Kuroki Meisa and Sato Taiki look dignified. In addition, the eerie presence of Kohinata Fumiyo, who plays Haikawa Juzo, the suspect in the crime and owner of the mansion, and the mysterious aura of Yoshikawa Ai, Hagiwara Riku, Naka Mami, Matsumoto Reo, and Kakaroni Kuritani, who play the children who call Haikawa “father,” build expectations for the story that is about to begin.

Yamashita Mizuki, who has also been announced to be appearing in the film, will play Mori Touko, who will be seen conducting interviews to get to the truth of the incident.

A turbulent development from the very first episode! “Fall, Pile Up, Lonely Death” will start airing on Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV at 10:30pm on July 7th.

■ Comment from Mizuki Yamashita
I’m Yamashita Mizuki, and I’ll be playing Mori Touko.
As a reporter, I will uncover the mystery hidden in the darkness of this case.
Is exposing the truth the only thing that is right?
I’ve been thinking about this ever since I received the wonderful script for this film.
It is my duty as a reporter to uncover all that lies behind the incident, including the love and sins of the family, but at the same time, I want to portray what I want to protect as a human being.
I would like to run through the race together with the viewers from a third-person perspective in the forest.
I hope you’ll look forward to it!

■ Comment from Takashi Nakayama (Yomiuri TV) Producer
We have added a new timeline to the wonderful setting of the original work, and we exchanged opinions with the original author, Iryu-sensei, about the character of Mori, a reporter who pursues the truth behind two incidents that intersect in the past and present. I think he has become a fascinating character with straightforward convictions and passion.
