According to ILLIT’s label BELIFT LAB, the music video for “Magnetic,” the title track from ILLIT’s first mini-album “SUPER REAL ME,” surpassed 100 million views on YouTube at around 11:30 a.m. on June 20. The music video surpassed 100 million views in 85 days since its release on March 25, setting a new record as the third fastest in history for a debut song by a K-pop girl group.
The popularity of “Magnetic” has already been proven on major global music charts. It ranked 91st on the US Billboard main song chart “Hot 100” (as of April 20th) and 80th on the UK “Official Single Top 100” (as of April 5th), setting a new record for the first time in the history of K-POP debut songs. Their first mini album “SUPER REAL ME” also achieved the feat of ranking 93rd (as of May 11th) on the main album chart “Billboard 200”.
“Magnetic” also broke various records on Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform. It achieved 100 million streams in 56 days after its release, and surpassed 200 million total plays (as of May 21) about a month later. This also made it the fastest debut song by a K-pop girl group to reach the same number of plays.
In Japan, “Magnetic” surpassed 100 million cumulative plays on the Oricon Weekly Streaming Ranking (as of June 17th). The achievement in its 11th week since its release makes it the fastest female group to reach 100 million plays in history. The song also reached 100 million plays on the Billboard Japan chart’s Streaming Songs Chart, tying for third fastest K-POP hit in Billboard Japan history. They continue to dominate Japan’s two major charts.

The music video expresses the free and lively sensibilities of teenagers, and depicts the situations and emotions felt by the five members as they are, such as the excitement of not being able to sleep easily, the fun of hanging out with the other members, and the real worries of teenage girls.
ILLIT has also been scheduled to appear at the 2024 TMEA 5th Tencent Music Entertainment Awards to be held at Macau Galaxy Arena on July 19th, where they will meet fans in the Chinese-speaking world for the first time.
