[Ryuichi Sakamoto]Final piano solo concert work “Opus” will be released worldwide. “Tong Poo” is now available for pre-order.

Ryuichi Sakamoto | Opus is the last piano solo concert work left by Ryuichi Sakamoto, who passed away on March 28, 2023, before leaving this world. It has been decided that it will be released worldwide as “Opus” on Friday, August 9, 2024. This work was recorded over eight days in September 2022, two or three songs per day, specially borrowing NHK 509 Studio, which Sakamoto declared to be “the best studio in Japan.” The film was exhibited at the Venice International Film Festival, New York Film Festival, and Tokyo International Film Festival, and was released to the public from May 10, and is currently being shown in theaters nationwide. “Opus” contains 20 songs that Sakamoto selected as the last songs he should leave behind in his life. Director Sora Oto, cinematographer Bill Kirstein, sound engineer ZAK, editor Takuya Kawakami, and lighting engineer Yukiko Yoshimoto participated.

“Tong Poo” from the album “Opus” is available for pre-release today. “Tong Poo” is an early masterpiece from Yellow Magic Orchestra’s debut album in 1978. There have been versions arranged for two pianos, but this is the first solo piano version. A special teaser of “Tong Poo” from the movie has been released on commmons’ SNS.

■Ryuichi Sakamoto “12” T-shirts June version
The “12” T-shirts will be available for order on the 28th of each month, which is the anniversary of Ryuichi Sakamoto’s death.
We will deliver 12 different T-shirts for 12 consecutive months using one photo selected from the archive. The front of the T-shirts has the RS logo printed discreetly next to the heart, and the back has the number of the month and Ryuichi Sakamoto’s name printed on the back. Above the name is a large image of Sakamoto from the Ryuichi Sakamoto archive.
We will start accepting orders for the June version of these T-shirts from June 28th.
Due to the large number of applications we receive from overseas, we will be dividing the application start time into two periods to accommodate time differences.
Please note that this “12” T-shirt cannot be mass-produced because it is a special print that is printed by hand one by one. We have secured a production line and are preparing to deliver to everyone who wants one, but when the number of orders reaches the limit of the number we can produce, we will stop accepting orders.
