On June 30th, the final performance of the SUPER☆GiRLS live house tour was held at duo MUSIC EXCHANGE.
For this tour, the first performance was subtitled “How about a 200% Love?” and the second performance was subtitled “Super Girls are Super Summery,” and they performed a live show centered around songs related to the title.
It has been six months since Takeuchi Nanami became the leader and Kadobayashi Yuha became the stage leader.
This tour attracted a lot of attention, as it was also Kana Sakabayashi’s first tour with all nine members since her return.
The first part will start with the new song “Tobikiridare yori Natsuishoi Koto,” which will be released on July 17th.
This song was written by Yamamoto Sho, who has produced numerous hit songs.
The catchy lyrics and party-friendly summer tune instantly got the crowd excited.
Afterwards, they performed a romantic setlist that allowed fans to fully enjoy Supaga songs, including “Love Manifesto” and “Heart-Pounding Love Song.”
The second part of the show featured a setlist centered on summer songs, in keeping with the subtitle “Tobikiri Supaga wa Natsu-poi” (“Super Summery”). They performed a string of their well-established summer songs, such as “Natsukare★Vacation,” “Summer Lemon,” and “Love Summer!!!,” earning them the nickname “Summer Supaga.”
The coupling song of the new song, “What Color Is the Sky Now?”, was also performed by both parts.
This is the first time that a song will feature double center and double singers, Sakabayashi Kana and Kadobayashi Yuu.
The choreography was done by first generation member Watanabe Hikaru, and choreography from past Supaga songs is sprinkled throughout the song, making it an emotional song for fans.
They also performed unit songs that are unique to solo concerts.
Among them, “Don’t Stop The Party” is a song that was choreographed by Watanabe Hikaru during her active days.
During the tour’s rehearsals, the choreography for this difficult song was actually checked and they received advice, and we were able to hear some behind-the-scenes stories during the tour’s MC.
It is possible to film a video of the new song “Tobikkiridare yori Natsushoku koto,” and with the running of a TikTok posting campaign, many videos taken at the three venues that have already been visited have been posted on social media, allowing even those who couldn’t make it to the venue to enjoy the video.
At the end of the finale, the 4th, 5th, and 6th generation members talked about their thoughts on the tour. Kamata from the 6th generation said, “This was the first tour for the 6th generation, so we were very nervous about a lot of things, but we were able to go to various prefectures with everyone, and meet people we don’t usually get to see for the first time, so it was a really wonderful time.” She continued, “I want to see more wonderful scenery with everyone, so I’ll do my best to catch up with my seniors.”
Speaking about the 5th generation, Takeuchi said, “The 5th generation was all members who put on a tough front, but I cried when I found out that younger members were joining just a year and a half after joining,” to which Tanaka forcefully commented, “Now I’ve realized that we are growing little by little, so even though I can’t show everyone a cool back, I want to work hard to remain like seniors.”
Sakabayashi, a 4th generation member, said, “This live house tour may have been a little different from what I had imagined, but I’m really happy that we’ve made it this far,” and added, “I really love Supaga, and I love you all too. We’ll continue to have live shows and events, so I want to grow even more into a group that everyone can love. Please continue to follow me.” Befitting a senior, she looked ahead to the future of the group as a whole.
During the MC, it was announced that not only will they be traveling with their fans on a fan tour, and holding events for Kadobayashi Yuha and Takeuchi Nanami’s birthdays, but that SUPER☆GiRLS will be hosting an event in November that will take them to three major cities, and that they will be holding a live concert to celebrate their 14th debut anniversary in December.
This summer is shaping up to be an incredibly hot one for Supaga, with their annual appearance at TIF as well as events in Fukuoka and Taiwan.
Finally, Takeuchi made a powerful comment, saying, “To be honest, we started the tour with a lot of anxiety, but through this live house tour, I’ve come to love the current Supaga, and I want to go even further.” With this, the 14th anniversary live house tour came to a close.
Supaga’s momentum will continue until the end of 2024!
