MoMo has announced that she will be releasing her second EP, “FlowinTokyo,” on Wednesday, July 24th. In addition, the lead single, “The Weekend,” was released today, Wednesday, July 3rd.
MoMo learned gospel music at church in her childhood, and after graduating from high school, she moved to the United States alone. Since then, she has been active as an SSW, producing songs with overseas composers. In the past, she has also attracted attention for her collaborations with Chocoholic, Wez Atlas, AmPm, and others.
The EP “FlowinTokyo” is a four-song work that sings about the place she found in Tokyo, the town where MoMo was born and raised. It is also noteworthy for the luxurious production team, including co-writing with Julian Le, a producer who has worked with global stars such as Jhené Aiko, and Bubby Lewis (Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Stevie Wonder) and Nozomi Yamaguchi (AI, Crystal Kay) participating on guitar and bass.
The lead single “The Weekend” is a song about a night of temptation with someone you met on a dating app, expressing feelings that many people can relate to. It’s a soulful piece that you’ll want to hum along to as you drive through the city at night.
In addition, the music video for the song, which was filmed on a special set, is scheduled to be released on Friday, July 5th at 6:00 PM. The artist himself is said to be appearing in the video, so look forward to its release.
