Regal Lily to release new album "kirin"! Pre-release of the track "Tenkirin" on Tanabata Day

Regal Lily will release their first full album in about two and a half years, “kirin,” on August 28th.

This work, which takes “giraffes” as the symbolic theme of the entire album, as an animal that has its feet on the ground but has the perspective closest to that of space, is filled with the original desire to experience life from a giraffe’s perspective.

In a style typical of Regal Lily, who have freely expressed the boundaries between reality and fantasy, the work asks, “Hey giraffe, what do you see?” and hopes to inspire viewers to discover a new perspective from within their own closed-off minds.

Among the new songs will be several works that were written in collaboration with musicians/arrangers whom the members respect.

The CD will be released in two versions: a regular edition and a limited first-run edition. The limited first-run edition will include footage of the solo live concert held at Hibiya Open-Air Concert Hall in Tokyo on July 2, 2023.

Additionally, the unreleased song “sayouna ra asa!”, which was used as the closing SE for the solo concert at Noh-on, will be included as a bonus track.

It has also been decided that the track “Tenkirin” from the album will be released digitally on July 7th.

“Tenkirin” is the opening number that carries the theme of the album, a guitar rock tune that is strummed with feet firmly on the ground, expressing a longing for a place that is not here. Be sure to check it out.

Additionally, additional shows for the nationwide solo tour “We Are Barefoot” have been announced to be held at THE WALL Live House in Taipei, Taiwan on October 11th and at LIQUIDROOM in Tokyo on October 16th.

Regal Lily has performed overseas in Canada, the United States, and China, but this will be their first time performing in Taiwan. This will also be their first solo overseas concert. Advance tickets for the Tokyo concert are currently available. Tickets for the Taiwan concert will be available from July 13th.

I wonder how the world looks to giraffes, who, like me, walk on the earth and have the closest perspective to space.
How does this world look to you, someone who walks the earth just like me, but is different from me? We want to understand because we don’t understand, and we have expressed that yearning and curiosity in the form of our own challenge.
As children, we knew the magic that got us through tough times.
I think it was just raising the seat of my bike a little higher than usual, or looking through a telescope on an ordinary night.
