STMLT Welcomes HANON to the Keyboard

The all-girls band and YouTube sensation, STMLT (Stemilates), has welcomed a new member, Hanon, to their lineup.

During the process of scheduling the interview, Hanon impressed everyone with her eagerness, exclaiming, “I can meet now! I’ll be there in an hour!” She joined the group straight after finishing her work at an advertising agency.

Immediately heading to the studio, she was asked to “play something,” and she flawlessly performed “Karakuri Pierrot / 40mP feat. Hatsune Miku.” Akira, a vocaloid fan, was especially thrilled.

Later, Hanon jammed with Yukippe (Vo) and Sakitee (Dr) on Macaroni Empitsu’s “Blueberry Nights.” Her keyboard skills were impressive, but it was her synergy with the members that truly stood out, marking a perfect fit with the band.

Getting to Know Hanon

Starting piano at the tender age of four, Hanon might exude an elegant aura, but don’t be fooled—she’s a true band kid at heart. She loves going to music festivals and wildly waving her towel around. Come summer, she’s out there getting a golden tan while soaking up the music.

Her favorite bands include HEY-SMITH and LELUET. She’s particularly drawn to bands that go beyond the typical four-piece setup, incorporating violins and brass instruments.

Surprisingly, one of her special skills is eating—a lot. She’s so good at it, she could list it as a talent.

Hanon’s name comes from a piano exercise book. Growing up in a musical family, her grandfather was an orchestra conductor, and her father is a bassist in a band. With such influences, it’s no wonder she started playing piano at four.

Up until adulthood, she thought having perfect pitch was just normal. Of course, this isn’t in an arrogant way—it’s more of a charmingly quirky trait.

Here We Go!

In an era where anyone can broadcast themselves online, it’s easy to get lost in the noise and not get noticed at all. With this in mind, STMLT’s strategy has been to increase their recognition through entertaining YouTube content, while showcasing their cool performances during live shows. Moving forward, they plan to enhance the musical element to about half of their content.

Just like the recently joined Sakitee (Dr), Hanon is a seasoned musician, aligning perfectly with this new direction.

It’s been about a month since the shocking departure of two members. As with many bands, STMLT has experienced the complexities of member changes, personalities, and musical styles. This makes following STMLT even more compelling and worth cheering for.
