TREASURE is a global boy group that debuted in August 2020 on the survival audition program “YG Treasure Box,” and since the release of their debut song “BOY,” they have swept the rookie awards at major awards such as the Asian Artist Award, MAMA, Golden Disc Awards, and Seoul Music Awards.
The first day of their second nationwide fan meeting, “2024 TREASURE FAN MEETING~WONDERLAND~,” was held at Pia Arena MM in Kanagawa, and attracted a total of 40,000 people over four performances over two days, July 6th (Sat) and 7th (Sun).
Although TREASURE is a live artist, they are also known for the fast-paced conversations between the members, and this year’s fan meeting was divided into two parts: games and performances, making it a fan meeting where you can discover a different charm from a concert. At the opening, the members appeared from the audience, and in the game corner, titled “Find the members!”, TREASURE split into two teams and went down to the audience, and there was a game where you had to guess where the members were hiding among the fans, and the venue was filled with cheers for the intimate production that is unique to fan meetings where the members and fans can interact more than last year.
In the live performance, they performed a total of seven songs, including their latest song “KING KONG”, which was released on May 28th (Tuesday) for the first time in about 10 months and reached number one on the iTunes charts in 18 countries and regions. The performance was a stark difference from the game corner, and captivated the fans.
The subtitle “WONDERLAND” was a song included in their second full album “REBOOT”, which was released in Korea in July 2023 and became their first million-seller. The lyrics express the feeling of love at first sight, “I’ve felt that everything is special since the day I met you”, and express the existence of “you” who they met by fate, so the subtitle “WONDERLAND” was decided. The content of the fan meeting will truly deepen the bond between the TREASURE members and the fans. The national fan meeting tour has been completed with 13 dates in 6 cities, which is unusual for a Korean boy group, and some venues have already sold out, so please get your tickets as soon as possible.
In addition, TREASURE’s first double A-side single “KING KONG / REVERSE” is scheduled to be released on Wednesday, August 21st, and will include the JP version of their latest song “KING KONG” as well as the first-ever Japanese original song “REVERSE,” the theme song for the TV Asahi Friday night drama “Densetsu no Head Sho” which will begin airing on Friday, July 19th.
“KING KONG -JP Ver.-” is a dynamic dance song with a strong beat and powerful bass, and the lyrics express the blind sad love of “I know it won’t come true, but I’ll give everything to love”. In addition, “REVERSE” has the meaning of “reversal” and “two-sided existence” and the two meanings of the same sound “REBIRTH (reborn)”, and the strong will to “be reborn as a new self, a true self and grab the future” is put into it. The impressive and edgy wobble bass phrase raises the excitement with a heavy low-pitched rap, and the moment it enters the chorus, it expands with a fast-paced and addictive drum beat, making it an energetic and emotional upper tune that is typical of TREASURE, transcending genres and attracting a wide range of listeners. The DVD/Blu-ray will include the MUSIC VIDEO and BEHIND THE SCENES of “KING KONG -JP Ver.-” for the first time.
