SIRUP will host "Grooving Night #4" with guest Ayumu Imazu

The fourth installment of the “Grooving Night” event hosted by SIRUP will be held at the Orix Theater in Osaka on Friday, September 20th.

Based on the concept of “Let’s spend a groovy night before going to bed”, this project will see IRUP and guest artists deliver live performances, talks and sessions from a stage designed to resemble a “relaxing room at night”. Previous guests have included iri (#1), OKAMOTO’S (#2) and TENDRE (#3), and the event has been a huge success. The fourth guest this time will be Ayumu Imazu, a globally active Gen Z artist based in New York who has topped the Korean Billboard “Japan Songs” chart for five consecutive weeks and has swept the charts of Asian countries.

Meanwhile, host SIRUP is also active around the world, with his song “UMAMI” (SIRUP, The Crane, whoosh) being nominated for the Golden Melody Award, the largest music award in the Chinese-speaking world, in July this year. Don’t miss the first two-man live performance by these two groups, SIRUP from Izumiotsu, Osaka, and Ayumu Imazu from Yao, Osaka, who are spreading their wings and flying out from Osaka to the world.

In addition to the live performance, the two, who are close friends in private, are also scheduled to hold a talk session and a one-night-only special session. Wearing “nightwear,” the talk will unfold on the bed and cover a wide range of topics, from each other’s songs to the differences in culture and values they feel between Japan and overseas. By sharing a space to think together with the listeners, they will connect “music, society, and people.”

In addition, in the previous #3 event, support was introduced for the visually and hearing impaired, and a booth was set up by the LGBTQ+ Center run by Nijiiro Diversity, a certified NPO. Through live music, they are creating a place to connect with new communities and providing an opportunity to broaden people’s perspectives on society.
