Philippine new dream pop band Megumi Acorda to hold first Japan tour

Megumi Acorda, an up-and-coming dream pop band from the Philippines, will be holding their first tour of Japan in September.

Megumi Acorda, a five-piece band centered around Megumi Acorda, who has roots in Japan and the Philippines, is currently active. Their first EP, “Unexpectedly,” released in 2018, gained a fan base not only in their home country but also around the world, and in 2020 the album was released on cassette tape by the Chinese obscure indie label Boring Productions. In 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic, they released “Unexpectedly (quarantine session),” a re-recorded version for online live performances, but a new work has long been desired.

Last year, they released the eight-song album “Silver Fairy,” which showcases the strength of their songwriting and the calm, yet fiery, three-dimensional band arrangements.

This will be their first visit to Japan, and they will perform four shows in three cities: Nagoya, Shizuoka, and Tokyo. Guests include downt, April Blue, MoritaSaki in the pool, and softsurf.
