[THE RAMPAGE]Tour finale showing their attitude towards the Dome based on evolution and succession (“THE RAMPAGE LIVE TOUR 2024 “CyberHelix” RX-16″)

The live tour “THE RAMPAGE LIVE TOUR 2024 “CyberHelix” RX-16″, which started in April 2024, ended on July 20th and 21st. The venue was Lala Arena Tokyo Bay in Chiba. With the Tokyo Dome performance “THE RAMPAGE LIMITED LIVE 2024 *p(R)ojectR® at TOKYO DOME” scheduled for September 11th and 12th, about a month and a half later, these final two days of the tour were very important for fans and members of THE RAMPAGE.
The tour was named after the single “CyberHelix” released on May 8th, and as the song title and lyrics suggest, the double helix structure of DNA was the keyword, which was digitized and played on the monitors at the venue. This brings to mind something that is passed down, or “inheritance,” but the hint at this was revealed in the second half of the concert. Here is a report on the performance on July 20th.

The countdown began 5 minutes before the start of the show, and one minute before the show, the packed venue called out the members and the cheers never stopped. As soon as the live performance finally started, the stage went dark, and Kawamura Kazuma appeared alone in the center of the stage with his back turned. The cheers exploded, and as soon as the monitor in the center of the stage split into two, and the members lined up in a row in the back, voices rose up from the entire venue, and amidst loud cheers, they launched into the song “CyberHelix,” which is also the title of the tour. After that, they continued to drop techno-style songs with four-on-the-floor beats that made your body move naturally, such as “SILVER RAIN” and “WAKE ME UP,” and in the middle of the fourth song, “ELEVATION,” they descended from the runway on both sides to the floor and proceeded to the stage at the back. The fans responded to the scene by waving their tour flags with all their might.
During the MC, the three vocalists, Kawamura Kazuma, Yoshino Hokuto, and RIKU, all asked, “Are you all having fun?” “Let’s get everyone excited, even if you’re here for the first time (at THE RAMPAGE’s live show),” Kawamura Kazuma encouraged the audience, saying, “This live show is like a roller coaster, can you get even more excited!?” and led them to the next song. True to his words, the live show was as dizzying, fun, and passionate as a roller coaster until the very end, and it was a time that made you feel the bond between THE RAMPAGE and RAVERS (fan name).

After changing their costumes, THE RAMPAGE appeared in a black-based look. After the dance part, they moved into the hip-hop part, featuring trap and drill songs such as “SOLDIER LOVE” and “Everest”. The audience heated up as the three vocalists took turns singing and the 13 performers backed them up. The audience danced to their hearts’ content, and a club-like atmosphere filled the Lala Arena Tokyo Bay. After the last song of “FRONTIERS”, the performance was led by the clamp team of Kawamura Kazuma, Takechi Kaisei, and Hasegawa Shin, and they joined up with the rest of the band to perform “HARD HIT”.

While we were still mesmerized by the spectacular stage, the bands set up on the left and right sides of the stage started playing, inviting us to the next part. The members appeared wearing glittering gold-toned suits, and introduced the song “Can’t Say Goodbye,” which is about summer memories and is perfect for this season. During the chorus, everyone wiped their hands, creating a sense of unity in the venue. After a dance part featuring Yoshino Hokuto, there was a special session corner with the three vocalists and the band. First, the three sang “MY PRAYER” in the “THE FIRST TAKE” version, followed by RIKU singing “INTO THE LIGHT,” Yoshino Hokuto singing “KIMIOMOU,” and Kawamura Kazuma singing the band arrangement of “One More Kiss,” and the audience was absorbed in the melody.
THE RAMPAGE enjoyed communicating with RAVERS during the two songs “ESCAPE” and “LIVIN’ IT UP”. When the band members suddenly appeared nearby, cheers that were close to screams rose up from each area. Then, the three performers gave an MC time to the excited audience.
Yonamine Rui said, “I’ve recently felt the miracle of being able to meet the people I met yesterday again today. Let’s take today to heart and live happily, being true to ourselves!” The audience responded with a loud “YEAH!”. Next, Suzuki Takahide was handed the microphone and said with a smile, “The tour is coming to an end! Live shows are really fun. I get so much power from everyone’s smiles. I think we’re able to perform live thanks to everyone!” The last performer was Yamamoto Shogo, aka YAMASHO. “We’ve decided to hold a dome concert in September. Just because we’re able to do this doesn’t mean that THE RAMPAGE is successful or popular, but there are still many cool artists out there both in Japan and abroad, and after 10 years of being on the same stage as them, we wanted to stand on the same stage again, so we went on this tour. The 16 members of THE RAMPAGE did everything they could. If you still want to see us and support us, we hope you’ll come to the Tokyo Dome in September. Can we still enjoy some happy scenery together!?” They spoke about the future of THE RAMPAGE in light of the tour.

In the dance track part, the performers performed aggressive performances one after another to a track containing a sample of Japanese instruments with a cyberpunk-style movie in the background, “PERFORMER’S Brute Dance ~RANBU~”. The audience was riveted by the power of the performance! The whole venue was filled with exclamations of surprise, “Whoooaaa!”
The final stage of the main part of the live started with “No Limit”, which was covered in EXILE TRIBUTE, and was full of popular songs that made you jump up and down, such as “16BOOSTERZ”. During “Let’s Go Crazy”, which is also a coupling song of “CyberHelix”, everyone started waving their towels at the words of Kazuma Kawamura, “Let’s have fun together by waving your towels without hitting the person next to you!”, and it was the moment when the venue finally became one and enjoyed the summer. The last song of the main part was “SWAG & PRIDE”, but in the MC before that, Hokuto Yoshino excited the venue with his words, “We’re not done yet. Let’s go see a bigger view together!”. THE RAMPAGE was ready for the tour finale, and their momentum was incredible.

The encore time began with the single “24karats GOLD GENESIS” to be released on July 24th. THE RAMPAGE came back on stage in black leather-like 24karats costumes. With the theme of “inheritance”, they presented the evolved “24karats” unique to THE RAMPAGE, who officially inherited the 24karats series, with a dignified performance. The second song of the encore was “100degrees”, and the double helix-style DNA movie that was shown on the monitor before the show started heated up the audience. In the middle of the show, there was a solo performance time for the performers, which led to the last song “STARRY LOVE”. The last song that THE RAMPAGE delivered was a ballad, and the audience enjoyed the last song while savoring the melody and lyrics.

On this day, THE RAMPAGE presented their attitude of “inheriting” the culture built by their predecessors as their legitimate successors, and heading towards their September Tokyo Dome performance “THE RAMPAGE LIMITED LIVE 2024 *p(R)ojectR® at TOKYO DOME”. This was the final show of the tour that gave a sense of THE RAMPAGE’s bright future, and their aggressive performance conveyed their passion for it.

The Sendai performance of this tour was the first performance of “24karats GOLD GENESIS,” which will be released on July 24 next week.
The concert will be available for streaming as a live recording from Monday, July 22nd.
