South African DJ/producer DJ LAG will be performing in Japan at “AMPINIGHT”.
Since making his debut performance in Europe and Asia in 2016, he has toured the world and appeared at festivals such as Unsound and Afropunk, as well as Boiler Room, receiving high praise on platforms such as Mixmag, The Fader, Resident Advisor, and DJ Mag.
His 2018 EP Stampit was featured by Beyoncé and Jay Z at Global Citizen Festival, and just a year later, DJ Lag produced tracks on Beyoncé’s album Lion King: The Gift. In 2022, his debut album Meeting With The King was released, which was ranked on several best albums of the year lists and was nominated for Best Gom Album at the South African Music Awards the following year.
DJ LAG has established himself as an innovative presence in the dance music scene, using the gomu and amapiano sounds that are garnering worldwide attention. His rare performances in Japan will take place on August 16th (Friday) at CIRCUS OSAKA and on August 17th (Saturday) at CIRCUS TOKYO.
